kelvin bro, when looking across decades, one thing you need to account for is money printing. correcting for money printing, in real terms, even the US has already been in a lost decade. this 'bull run' that we've been seeing has been more about excess liquidity and no where to park it, rather than a booming economy with productivity gains. the lost decade ray dalio is talking about is a debt crisis, not about regular stagnation. a debt crisis is something a bit more drastic, as it's more about the USD losing reserve status, in which case you might want to put your wealth into hard assets and commodities instead - because those will boom.
When companies are moving out of china, there are more countries that benefit, which also diversify globalisation. Rather then having a high skew to china, now companies have a diverse exposure which will be more resilient to shocks. So why would that be a bad thing though?
I must say cpf sa is darn good if we can compound positively at 4% or more for the next few decades. Literally no lost decade. Just have to trust tt we get our monies by withdrawal age
STI already got 30 years of lost decades as its stock market hardly move! It is the most boring & lousy market in the world! To make $$$ now- must know crypto & US stocks!
Great clip!! Geo politics and de-risking will just drive inefficiency and cost up. Market is over valued. "Things" always happen when there is exuberance. Cash is always king when the time comes. Let's be patient...avoid FOMO.
Well, the US current debt is US$34 trillion! The debt increases by $1 trillion every 100 days because the US govt is spending like there is no tomorrow. The current interest for this debt is $870 billion which is BIGGER than US military defense budget. The US economy right now is being supported by massive govt spending. No one in Congress will cut spending because that will be a political suicide move. The Feds will sell more & more bonds to cover the fiscal deficit. More bonds means more interest to pay. Sooner or later the US govt will need to allocate more of their budget to cover just the interest and will not have money to spend on anything else. When that happens, the economy will crash and bring down the stock market along with it.

it seems STI is in the lost decade now
More than a decade already. STI still lower than where it was in 2007

Ya, considering whether to fully or partially sell off my CPSX now 😅
Don’t try to time the market by selling off. Just slowly add in global funds for diversification
@@KelvinLearnsInvestingThanks Kelvin. Will consider doing that.
