She is very strong. And she is only comes below Hu Tao if people execute her jump-cancels properly. But if they mess up you will end up doing more damage with Yoimiya. That's the cool thing with her. She is very reliable and easy to play.
He might be better. I have seen his kit but need to look at his numbers in more detail.

since Yoimiya's release, i can say that THIS IS THE BEST GUIDE YET! It talks all about her especially her burst while in other guides they say its not worth triggering it.
Thank you so much. This is a great compliment to hear. But honestly, in my day-to-day life, I often don't use the burst. :D. My Yoimiya is so strong that it won't stop me from destroying every content. But since I have to think for all players I have to give a nuanced and neutral representation that needs to work for most players in most situations. And generally speaking, the Burst should be considered. But they are rare cases where you can pay less attention to them and have only a tiny damage loss. In the case of Shimenawa if the Yoimiya is really cracked it can be worth sacrificing burst uptime for resin-efficient farming. Especially when the team-mates you use don't profit from her attack buff so much like Yelan, Yun Jin, or Zhongli. And I think I did explain these rare cases carefully. However, if I would start today with a new set I would be torn between Shimenawa and Echoes of an Offering. Echoes has lower Damage per Screenshot numbers but it will out-DPS Shime. The problem is I don't need the Xiao pieces. :D
In abyss her burst is a great damage addition, I get 25K-30K on initial hit and it does 7-9K explosions. In open world, I don't use it but it's definitely worth leveling in my opinion
As a yoimiya main since 2.0, i would say if you like to unga bunga then she's perfect for you. She still has quite of problems with her auto targeting but nonetheless she is my favourite character currently in genshin. I simply don't care comparison with other top pyro dps because in this game you don't need something broken to beat it so why you should run for others opinion, just like whatever you like to play. Even i have my hu tao c2 and i rarely use her in Abyss. I hope Hoyoverse will improve more of bow character. Until then good luck everyone for who'll going to pull yoimiya the fireworks queen ❤️
i had to skip Yoimiya initially because of Kazuha made me got to 2nd pity and Raiden was right around the corner after Yoimya but this time around im definitely getting her the fox wifu dendro unite and the dendro archon are my only must pulls in 3.0 so far so there's time to save up

Idk why but one day I thought about a friend of mine who has Yoimiya, and for some reason I kept convincing myself to try to get her so now here I am, with almost everything I need to max her out, an r2 Rust and artifacts. As well as about 30-something pity, 45 wishes and guaranteed. She will be coming home.
66 pity with 16 wishes, already have her, hoping for constellations and supports on her banner. Yun Jin has some nuts constellations for her

Yup, got her right after her banner popped up got her talents to 10/10/8, I'm having lots of fun playing with her, got her to do about 43k so far (with supports)
@@amaris0320 nice! I have yoimiya from first banner and just double crowned her recently as well! 10/10/9 last month actually. She's been best girl in abyss and in overworld and so easy to play

1:her normal attack can infuse with pyro with elemental skill so no need charged attack.
2.she shoot arrow fast.

The main reason I want her is honestly because of her personality and design, I just love her as a character so I’ll use her even though I have better Pyro DPS characters
I'm sad Bolide wasn't mentioned. Given the issues with her attack string being interrupted, and the fact that she's so squishy, she already desperately wants a shield - and Bolide gives a free buff to her NA's without the luck or energy issues of Echoes or Shimenawa. It also buffs the shield, meaning she can dish out even more attacks without interruption, which is phenomenal
True I really was thinking if I should include that set or not since it is in a very obscure domain with Archaic Petra. Now at least we do have the Strongbox to get RB pieces. But yeah I do agree. It is a decent set on her. And it fits thematically to her since it looks like it was designed for her.

yoimiya was my first 5 character it was carrying me so much my freind's start giving me some informations about her so i was able to play her right and i got for her polar star, she's now one of my powerful units so I'm going to pull for her signature weapon

Been waiting a year since I lost the 50/50 and I am so ready for her to come home! I watched the leaks subreddit for every banner, because I wanted to be ready. I've farmed her Crimson set, her talent books, and ascension materials so I can take her to potential right away. I am so hyped for the fireworks queen!

Retracing bolide in my opinion is her best set. It gives her loads of shield strength as her two piece since she needs to be protected by a shield and the 4 piece gives 40% normal and charged attack damage which works perfectly for her.

Bolide is really strong with Yun JIns buff because it scales with Yoimiyas dmg%, but not her attack. However I would argue that Echoes of an offering gives more dps in teams without Yun Jin, although it's not as good with a poor internet connection. I suppose my biggest reason for not farming bolide myself is the requirement of a shield, and as easy as it is to just put Zhongli alongside her, there are scenarios where the set bonus is useless for me (for example coop, experimenting with teams without shield, etc.)
Ig bolide is overshadowed by Shimenawa, partly because of the 18% ATK and 10% extra dmg. A big reason why is that it's paired with Emblem, which is arguably the best artifact set in the game, so many players will have good stats on Shimenawa artifacts simply from farming for Emblem.
Bolide is a good shout though, no real downsides in current "end game" content
I was thinking about putting this in or not back and forth. Especially since it looks like it was originally designed for her. I don't like though the shield strength two piece at all. In this game it is less about endurance but more about how you can destroy your enemy faster. Also the normal att damage buff of 35% is fairly week compared to the 50% Shimenawa gives you. I think today probably Mihoyo would design it differently. It just looks like an early model to me.

There's actually a 3rd layer of randomness with echoes of an offering. That's right. It's...…. getting the correct main stat on the correct set with the correct substats with high rolls, and then rolling into said substats.

Yeah that is a different level of pain. At least it doesn't randomize it's main stats during combat. That should count for something? Doesn’t it? 😅
Hopefully one day we will have a truly dedicated set for her without any downside. My 10/10/10 Yoimiya is truly my sunshine.

i Love my yoimiya and kokomi. they received so much hate but they seemed op to me! a strong shield is a must for her so, like many other teams, zhongli pairs well.
heizou is an absolute BLAST to play! squishy like klee but so much fun. kuki's heals seem just enough to keep him not dead.
Love the edits, voice over, and in-depth analysis, one of my new favorite Genshin UA-camrs! I actually went for Yoimiya but lost in hard pity to a C1 Keqing. Five pulls later while I got Yoimiya, she was meant to come home.

I wasn't expecting you to mention viridescent hunt, haven't seen anyone besides me use it on her, and honestly I've felt very silly because of it. I didn't get lucky enough to pull rust, and VH happened to fix my crit ratio with the Shimenawa pieces (which held me back from switching to Hamayumi) I had farmed. At the end of the day I agree that she's gotten some solid indirect buffs, and I think she's very under rated by most of the community. She has a very simple playstyle which I find fun, yet at the same time I feel like it grows on you to naturally get around things like auto targetting over time which makes her even more enjoyable to play.

Fact check : If You play mainly on mobile, You'll regret skipping Yoimiya as it's a huge ease of life character
not to mention since Inazuma patch most of Boss is moving which is a pain for melee DPS

i pulled her on the original banner and i have no regrets. yoimiya + beidou is fiye. i use those 2 with bennett and raiden, i know i should probably be using fischl for more optimal damage but i kinda like the playstyle of swapping between 2 on field DPS characters during the other’s cooldown, and the team already does PLENTY of damage
she's my comfort character and i will be pulling for yoimiya💕 thank you for an amazing well-detailed video this was amazing

This is by far the best Yoimiya guide I’ve seen, before this I still had no idea what she did even after seeing all the other vids coming out
On Yoimiya’s rerun I lost 50/50 to Keqing at soft pity and was devastated. But now hearing she’s coming back in the first half of 3.2 I’m so excited! I hope she comes home because I am so ready to welcome her.
I think the way you put the distinction between echoes attack bonus and shimenawa is very helpful and rarely mentioned. If you have echoes, you will find that your damage on your whole string generally gets higher because of how it buffs smaller hits comparatively more. This, I believe, is an overall good thing especially for overload and monopyro teams. For vapes, Yoimiya will still attack fast enough to see plenty of big vapes. Overall, this set is the better general set compared to Shimenawa.

I absolutely love Yoimiya. Her design and personality instantly made me want her when she first came out. I wasn't able to get her unfortunately and now I have a very strong Hu tao. So I'm wondering if she's still worth pulling for. I have an r5 rust and a c6 Yunjin and a strong xinqiu. I am not interested in the new sumeru characters. All I want is Childe and maybe Scaramouche depending on his element and I still have a lot of wishes left after pulling Kazuha. So.. should I pull for Yoimiya?
The rust is my only r5 weapon and yunjin my only c6 character btw. Idk how that happened.

Honestly I feel like way too many people are overlooking the Retracting Bolide set for Yoimiya. Even the aesthetics match her and frankly - I think it's good on her because she practically always wants a shield.

i didn't know that c2 yoimiya was helpful until now..so much damage with the sets! tysm!
I personally use yoimiya in an overvape team, using Yoimiya obviously, shogun for the electro, kokomi for the heals and hyfro and kazuha bc kazuha. My rotation is shogun and kokomi e, then kazuha e and then in larger groups or against bosses, i use kazuha q and then switch to yoimiya to do some dmg and then rinse and repeat. And against smaller and weaker enemy's the first electrocharged part of the rotation mixed with kazuha's e is usually able to kill the enemys really fast, so i guess kazuha has kinda become my main dps and yoimiya is more of a sub now xd

she seems pretty tricky to upgrade and really make op but she definitely looks fun and op once youve built her and learn how to use her
tbh i just run Shimenawas.
Its an easy playstyle and you get it basically for free while farming severed fate.
I run 2-piece gladiator, 2- piece crimson witch with r5 Hamayumi. My team is normally Yoimiya, Raiden, Bennett, Xingqiu. Still working on Raiden, but in this team you can just give her Dragon's Bane and EM Sands if you haven't gotten a perfect set yet. (Other than a few days of coming back to see what was going on I took almost a year break.)

Lavawalker is a great set for mono pyro teams as you mention, but also great for reverse melt rosaria and kaeya, which is an underrated team imo

@@Juice-chan true but keep in mind that the usual set for reverse melt rosaria/kaeya might be something like emblem which 1. doesn't affect their Es which is a decent portion of that team's dmg (they both have 6s cooldowns) and 2. Emblem is only better than lavawalker in that team comp if both your rosaria and kaeya have more than 140% ER (idk the actual ER calcs for that team but it seems a little too high but emblem does give 20% ER already so ehh it could be better)
great vid! i’m almost finished farming talent and ascension mats for Yoimiya and definitely needed a thorough breakdown of the popular weapons and artifact sets for her before spending any resources! my best bows for her are an r1 aqua simulacra (currently on my Yelan), an r1 Skyward Harp, and an r3 Rust…as for artifacts im a bit torn between a 4pc shimenawa or a 2pc crimson witch + 2pc shimenawa set for her…

however- i’ve heard that crimson witch is getting added to the strongbox in 3.0 alongside a bunch of other artifacts sets so im thinking of just farming the emblem/shimenawa domain and then just strongboxing any trash pieces into crimson witch pieces to see if i can get anything better! ✨✨
If you're putting Skyward Harp on her I'd recommend 4pc Shimenawa, although the energy can be difficult to manage, the 50% dmg bonus really becomes invaluable if you don't get dmg% from your bow (speaking from experience since I mained her with viridescent hunt for almost a year heh). I myself am farming the chasm artifacts since Xiao is my second most used dps, but best of luck getting Shime/CW pieces.
Adding on to your spoilers:
Apparently all the early artifact sets will come to the strongbox, and there's multiple that are really helpful as the second set in their domain was pretty garbage. Hoping Viridescent venerer comes to the strongbox, have barely farmed it cause the maiden pieces scare me lol

i personally use harp even tho i have both aqua and r5 rust. It just looks good on her, balances my crit ratios easily and gets the job done

One thing about Shimenawa - I mostly use Yoimiya in Overvape with Ei, Yelan (was Xinqiu) and YunJin/Zhongli
At the end of Yoimiya's E duration you most likely have your burst back to use for Raiden to Overload on, with Ei giving the energy back
So, to me, it's the best in slot
In an extended rotation where you use Raiden Q I can see that work. Since Raiden regens so much energy that it can make up for the drain. Yeah sounds interesting. I haven't considered this option.

I enjoyed the video. The only issue I saw was on artifact rankings. Shimenawa also increases Yun Jin's flat damage contribution. So according to the Yun Jin & Yoimiya discord guide this will cause Shimenawa to be BiS for any yoimiya team with Yun Jin. Is there a more recent set of calculations that this is no longer the case?
While this is true you have to understand that the buff from the Echoes of an Offering set is still far more potent. Like I said it is as if you bring in another Yun Jin that contributes the same amount of flat damage on average.
This happens to be that it outweighs the buff from Shimenawa by a great deal.
Also regarding the Shimenawa vs Crimson Witch debate I encourage you to read the Keqingmains guide. These theory crafters calculated Crimson to be around 3% stronger than the Shime set. And that is simply because they factored in the energy drain and how it will hurt the burst uptime. Most people will only be able to burst half of the time.
On top of it I did my own calculations and compared sets with similar stats via Genshin Optimizer. And I got the same results. Shimenawa looks deceptively stronger when you ignore the drain and assume that you somehow will be able to burst every rotation. But that's not the case. A 60 cost burst suddenly is almost 80. Of course it will hurt the dps.

You convinced me she's a good dps and a decent alternative to Hutao. I'll probably still skip since she's right before Sumeru and I already have Hutao. If I want another onfield pyro 5 star, it'll have to be between Dehya and Yoimiya for me.
Fun personal fact: I initially wanted to pull for Yoimiya so I could use her as a burst support for Ganyu melt. Because Hoyo let us playtest her during the story quest before her banner started, pretty much found out about the ICD on her burst very early on. I even had all her mats pre-farmed :C
Too bad. But you can try your luck on Tignari. He seems to go into the same niche Yoimiya is with her kit. He is a ranged single target DPS and from what I heard he might be cracked.

Thank you, this was very helpful as I have been looking for a better way to build her as I just got her. The advice I can leave is that when you get the undesired artifacts you can craft the Crimson Witch artifact.
Yoimiya has been my main ever since she came out last year and I'll never regret pulling for her. Also pulled for c2 yesterday and I absolutely love it
Yoimiya is so amazing, like her so much, she is absolutely worthy of everything best. Favourite character in the game for multitude of reasons, finally getting her will the best thing.

I've been a Yoimiya main since her initial release and until now she's still my go to dps in abyss! she's really powerful and fun to play even with the drawbacks. Good thing I was able to accidentally pull her when I was really pulling for Sayu that time
Back then I was happy that I gave her a shot and over the year she became one of my top DPS units. And she is simply fun and adorable.

Glad you enjoyed it. But let me say real quick that if by any chance you have already a cracked Shimenawa set then it is most of the time not worth switching that out to get 5-10% more damage. I mean if you want to max Yoimiya to her fullest that's cool. Just saying because of the immense amounts of resin you would have to spend. But new players don't have to worry about that and can freely choose.
@@Juice-chan I am actually running a two piece Crimson and Gladiator’s set only because I didn’t have anything better and decided to spend my resources on other compositions. Now that I have 4 solid teams, I want my Yoimiya to shine her best so I’m going to start farming for Echoes thanks to your useful comparisons.

@@suira5964 MiHoYo haven't confirmed that Zhongli and Ganyu will be the fall 3.0 banners as of yet - but many credible sources have leaked as much.
I assume they're next after the Yoimiya banner.
i skipped yoimiya last time because i was saving for ganyu (didn't wish on any 5 star between zhongli in 1.5 (?) and her rerun because i was so dedicated) but now she's my next target! bottom line is, with patience you'll get the characters you want, and especially now that 2 banners run at the same time the characters will come back around again!

As I have all 3 and I've built them from their very first banners, I would suggest:
If you have Ayaka, skip ganyu (specially not having zhongli becuz she needs his sheild for uninterrupted dps)
Yoimiya is godlike, she tears up everything with rust bow as well
