Messi's great, but he's not the greatest soortsman to ever walk the earth. Wayne Gretzky retired 24 years ago. He held 61 records at the time. He still holds or shares 58 of them. My personal favorite record of his is the most points by two brothers. Wayne has 2,857. His brother Brent has 4! There's another record for most points for any number of brothers. It's held by the 6 Sutter brothers, who scored just 73 more than Wayne and Brent. Which means that Wayne single-handedly scored almost as many points as all 6 Sutter brothers, and they were no slouches! And Wayne's arguably not even the greatest Canadian athlete of all time. In 1980, Terry Fox decided to run the entire length of Canada to raise money for cancer research. Terry had bone cancer and was running with one leg! This was 1980, so there were no fancy blade prosthetics. His prosthetic was a glorified peg leg. He ran 42km per day for 143 days before it was discovered that the cancer had spread to his lungs. He was hospitalized but vowed to resume his run where he left off. Sadly, he never recovered and died within a month. The Terry Fox run is an annual fund-raising run held in 44 different countries that has raised over $800M for cancer research. So, yeah... Messi's great, but most definitely not "the greatest sportsman to ever walk the earth."

Lionel Messi made his long-awaited Inter Miami CF debut on July 21, 2023, coming off the bench in the 66th minute of a Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul. Just 40 minutes later, he scored the game-winning goal in the 94th minute to give Inter Miami a 2-1 victory. Messi's goal was a stunning free kick from just outside the box, curling into the top corner of the net. It was his first goal in MLS, and it came just six days after his landmark, transformative deal was formally announced. The goal was a fitting end to a memorable debut for Messi, who was greeted by a raucous crowd at DRV PNK Stadium. He showed flashes of his brilliance throughout the match, and his goal was a reminder of why he is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Messi's debut was a major moment for MLS, and it is sure to generate even more interest in the league. With Messi in the fold, Inter Miami is now a team to be reckoned with, and the league as a whole is on the rise.

Solo el genio podía ganar este partido, el Inter estaba totalmente acorralado pero tiene al mejor de todos los tiempos, y cuando tienes al mejor esto es lo que sucede.
