Greetings from the international space station!
I met Mr. Shelby in about 1989 at the Houston Autorama, and got his signature. Still have it. My father has built and restored all kinds of muscle cars since the 1960's, and I plan to watch this video with him. Thanks, Jordan!!

It doesn't surprise me that Mr. Shelby would design a pick-up truck. He owned a cattle ranch not very far from where I live in Northeast Texas, called Shelby Tuli. I think his heirs still operate it.
He was such an innovator, the man was a master salesman and promoter, he could sell ice cubes to an Eskimo. Such a hot rod genius.
When I visited, pre COVID-19, they had a great tour guide who spent an hour plus explaining the history behind the cars and the wall photos. Carroll Shelby was known to sign Cobra or Mustang car parts sent to him for a donation to his charity foundation.
Dang I didn’t know these were so sought after my gramps “summer” car is a Shelby mustang now I know why he calls it his baby I now have an appreciation for his baby.
You sparked a trip down memory lane. I remember my cousin’s face beaming as she took me for a ride in her new mid-1960s Mustang. The museum is awesome. I would have loved to have been one of those who rented a Hertz Shelby Mustang, preferably black and gold.
I remember back in 67/68, I would say more like 1967, my neighbors brother bought a brand new Shelby Mustang GT 350 Convertible, what stood out to me, which was unusual on cars back then, even today was the Roll bar. Who knew the legend that car would be back then.

In recent decades the two car plants her in Adelaide South Australia have closed & leaving thousands out of work. Our car manufacturers were initially, Holden (I think equal to your General Motors) & Chrysler, prior to becoming Mitsubishi motors.
We now import cars & I've noticed a lot more Mustangs around.

The 1966 GT350H or Hertz cars came with HiPo 289 engines, so people would rent them, and take them to the weekend drag races, or they would pull the HiPo motors, and replace the with standard 289s.
Waited all day to watch this with my husband when he got home. We loved it! Gorgeous cars! More like pieces of art with amazing performance.

Since I'm not that into cars I really didn't think I would like this video is much. But I was wrong I enjoyed it very much and even watched it twice. I agree with you that green car was spectacular. Those cars are a work of art.
Funny fact about the hertz gt350 racers would rent them for the weekend and take the motors out of them and put them in there car for the the weekend. Come Sunday night they put them back in the rental and return it on Monday. Shelby was and still is the man! Thanks for the awesome vlog keep it up!

Carroll Shelby's Cobra may just be the hottest car ever made. Those chrome models were REALLY sweet! My first car was a Ford Mustang (purchased from a rental company) but it didn't look a thing like any of these!!! Thanks Jordan (and Eric) for sharing your visit to the museum with us!

That car museum is aw some!! Very cool! I just watched the movie FORD VS FERARI that is a great movie. I drive a blue 2015 50th anniversary Mustang GT that is fully loaded. that I really love to drive and have a lot of fun. Another great video Jordan. Carroll Shelby was played by Matt Damon in that movie.

Amazing vlog! I remember watching Barrett Jackson auto auctions, and they would have some really pricey Shelby Cobra's on the auction block. That Shelby pick up truck is something else. 😎

They are beautiful cars !! My dad had several mustang's when I was growing up. He was a mechanic. He was working on his mark 2 when he passed away when I was a little girl. After my dad passed away my mom started driving that car and I swear that car was jinxed. It was for ever breaking down or running out of gas or something. One day the horn went off and my mom didn't know how to get it to stop. lol ! That was creepy. I think someone unhooked the battery until they could get it fixed. Then my mom sold it to her cousin. He had it in his garage. The car caught on fire, but the garage didn't burn at all. That was crazy...!!😱😳 Then my cousin got a Shelby when she turned 16 . It was white with blue stripes as well . She skipped school one day and flipped the car and totaled it.

Did you know that Carrol Shelby also has a chili spice kit out? It's great. Love what Carrol did for the Cobra Mustang. There's nothing else you can say but "WOW" when you're around that many Cobras. The hertz GT 350 H models were built in 1966. They were equipped with automatic transmissions where most all of the regular GT 350s were four speeds.
Jordan , Also , Ford Motor Corp actually owned 49% of Hertz
Jordan it has been said that customers who rented the Shelby Mustang from Hertz would take the car to the track and pull out the engine and put it into their own car and race with it. Once they were done then they would put the engine back into the Mustang and return it. Some customers did not even bother to swap the engine and they would just use the car to drag race and then return it to Hertz thinking that they would get away with not paying for the damages, but they ended up paying for them anyways. Also Shelby and Hertz brought back the program to rent a Shelby Mustang from Hertz in 2006.
Love your work. Been a subscriber for a little while choosing what I would like to see if ever in Hollywood. No particular order. Your style even from earlier vids are informative and enjoyable. So, I have now started binge watching from the first vlog and it’s really the way to go. I’m watching you now more than streaming Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. Love the most; old California and Hollywood history touristy walking tours.
thanks Jordan, you brought my favorites together on your channel, my favorite band is the Doors and my favorite cars are the 1960's Ford mustangs, Jim Morrison drove a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT-500. The Doors also did a soundtrack for a Ford training film circa 1966. I have a 68 GTCS myself. keep up the good work my friend you made an old geezer happy!

Cool cars, the Ford Mustang is one of my favorite cars made by Ford. Jordan, since you like the Mustang so much you might want to come the Woodward Dream Cruise event that is held in Oakland County, Michigan usually the 3rd weekend in August. The cruise itself is on Saturday but people come in from days before to cruise Woodward. The Mustangs are in abundance in Ferndale, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. They are in Mustang Alley. You can also see GTs and Shelby some old, some new. The event has about 1 million people in attendance.

When Ford Motor Company assumed production of the Shelby automobiles in 1968, the vehicles moved further away from the sports car Shelby American envisioned. In January 1970, Carroll Shelby retired from the automobile and racing business.
I had a '69 Mach I, which was like a starter Shelby.

Jordan, my granddaughter got a Victoria record player for her birthday in August and an Elvis record.....she is 15, and within a few days her record player died....and parents had to send it back. So disappointing.

It'd be the best thing since the Monkeemobile, and Cobra is a good name but I could see it, the Jordan-the-Lion-mobile. But you'd have to customize it a little, maybe with a little dog house on a trunk rack and your graphics plastered all over the body. With you and Jah on the hood in your Evel Knievel best.
