If you rewatch the series, you pick up on a lot of subtle running gags. For instance, Hermes regularly references green snakes and sugar cane in his analogies, even when they're not really related, for instance "I'm hungrier than a green snake in a sugar cane field" to "the pressure will crush you like a green snake under a sugar cane truck".
I could really hear him singing it in my head like he did it all the time, but I think the only instance I could actually remember him doing it was with his dog.
I think it shows his emotional intelligence, his ability to look on the bright side. That’s not nothing. Leela might be intellectually smarter than Fry but while she and Fry both have trauma, Leela is shown to have trust/bonding issues and pessimism while Fry is optimistic and openly willing to bond with others. (Leela is also more willing to be criminally violent and mean, whereas Fry is at worst occasionally naughty) It’s a perfect choice of personal song for fry because it defines his character and what it is about him that makes him a perfect companion for Leela.
It's really Fry's thing, it's all part of his bright and mellow attitude. He may openly awknowledge that he had a crappy time in his original time period, but he's always been optimistic and sunny.
Hey, it’s a good song. Named my Sunny Day team in Shining Pearl after it. My first real attempt at making a good weather team as opposed to just slapping weather moves and abilities into a party and hoping for the best. Such a team deserves a good name and Futurama reference.
In the spanish dub of Futurama, Fry sings a made up song instead of "Walking on sunshine". It's hard to translate it in a way that makes sense as a song, but it goes: "Everytime I bath it hurts me, that's why I bath once per year"
Whole this time i was thinking he did *"I am singing in the rain"* completely out tune and messed all lyrics. Because it's Fry and he's brain was damaged so many times 😏 Now i did a research and it became less funny to me and my brain is damaged 😞
Never thought I’d hear “Walking on Sunshine” played on the bagpipes. It’s pretty dope
All the times I saw that episode I never noticed that’s what he was playing 😂😂
What's a bagpie?
@@SeriousDragonify
Bagpipes are a medieval torture device, invented in Scotland.
How did I never realize he always sung that one song?

@@A2Ztigers why are these comments so funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He did sing or hum a few other things. One I remember was when he hummed the "Three's Company" Theme song.

I never realized that Scruffy was playing Walking on Sunshine at the "funeral" 😂
Me neither.
He's walking on sunshine now.
Boilers n toilets
thats honestly very sweet of them. that song basically doesnt exist except to fry and they recreated it from all the times they heard him singing it
@@rawtrout3402 ...and that one boiling toilet

It was truly his theme song.
Fry and Seymour don’t need autotune
(I am the storm that is approaching lyrics while "I'm walking on sunshine" plays)
I had a dream of this once before I got interested in futurama
Fry and Seymour make me so emotional lol
Fry and his singing is always the best
“This makes me the oldest member of my family… OHH WOOHOOHOOOHOOO😭”
It's so funny how the only words he knows in the song are "I'm walkin' on sunshine, wo-oah!"
Can't tell you how much i cried when scruffy played that song on bagpipes
Seymour's Singing✨
“He’s walking on sunshine now.”
If only he knew any of the other words lol
Oh I never realized the bagpipes were playing the song lol
0:36 gets me every time

This is my favorite music running gag
Fry has good taste
And then he literally walked on Sun.
Shine
@@5oanna-wb5uw Technically aren't we all walking on sunshine when we walk outside during the day? as long as there's no shade?
@@tsup2 I mean, yeah. Color is just light from the sun being absorbed and bounced off, so that sort of means we’re always in contact with it.
@@5oanna-wb5uw WOOAHOOOH
Not quite. He wasn't exactly walking when he hit the sun.
Damn, must be his favorite song.
For the love of God, Fry, LERN THE REST OF THE SONG!
I never realized that fry really liked this song
Singing off key since at least 1999
The summer of I still remember what you did last summer :D :D
Was literally thinking about this while working
I knew it was coming because of the thumbnail, but it still cracked up at the shower scene

The fact that he doesn't even know the second line is the same as the first is just so Fry. 😂
There's also one episode where Zoidberg mentions his love of the song. The one with the monkey planet, i think.
I want to know the reason they went with this song?
It fits with Fry's personality
It's about waiting for someone.
can you upload the full funeral scene please?
thanks you
the funeral one destroyed me
I never got the mushroom joke until now
He's so off-pitch it kills me everytime
I love Futurama when will a reboot happen?
I dont think its going to happen
There’s going to be new Futurama episodes coming to Hulu this summer
@@theassortedhobbyist fr?
@@hamkiller6969 Yup. A King of the Hill revival is also coming to Hulu as well.

A yo where was kif scrubbing?
Probably the same place Fry was scrubbing him
Where the sun don't shine

ok, good video. fine. but you don't just spring jurassic bark on people without warning them!

Just buy some chocolate man, that should fix your brain.
And don't forget to walk on the sunshine!
What kind of rock you have to live under to not know the song "Walking on sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves?
He doesnt even know the lyrics 😂
Wow he’s SO out of tune
