- Our programming continues and this time we find ourselves faced with a villain that perhaps not everyone understands how important he was in the history of Dragon Ball: Dr. Gero is certainly the most evil and influential human villain in the history of anime, he created many androids and even Cell, and his legacy has been passed down in Dragon Ball SuperHeroes. Gero has currently become my favorite villain of the Franchise after taking the place of Frieza and the temporary Fu. Of course he doesn't have any memorable battles, but his presence as the antagonist of the series was very much felt. This is my way of commemorating such an underrated villain and I'll see you soon with a new video!

Dr Gero left a huge impact on the DB franchise. He created the ultimate villain (Cell), is responsible for creating Androids 17 and 18 (which technically makes him the father in law is Krillian), created several androids and weapons for the RR army, was responsible for Trunks future being destroyed, the death of hundreds of innocent people in both timeliness and is his actions would lead to the death of Goku (and King Kai). Even in death, his shadow looms large.

Fun fact: Gero and Android 19 were originally the main antagonists for the story arc but Toriyama’s editor advised against it twice and that’s how we ended up with the Cell Saga.
the entire cell arc was s nightmare to write because the editor of toriyama was never conform with any of the ideas of toriyama.
Gero was a villain who deserved more than he got. A shame he got tossed to the side for being "an old man," because his design is actually really cool. In some ways it reminds me of Yhwach, from Bleach.

Dr. Gero/Android 20: From the day you defeated the Red Ribbon Army, Dr. Gero doing only for revenge. We will realize his dream.

Cell: Actually... That would be me. And once I'm finished with 17, you're next.
Even tho Dr Gero was never a favorite for me, He does have a lot of lore going on within the series. Plus like with most villains he does have a pretty solid introduction.

Great video! Even though I don’t watch Dragon Ball, Frieza was one of the villains I always associated with you so it’s surprising that he has been replaced although it makes sense given your current passion towards scientists. This villain definitely seems cool, great video to him!

That's great! I don't know much about Dr. Gero yet, but in my opinion he seemed like a really cool villain and I understand how important he is in the anime. The song selection is interesting, but definitely suits him!
Great AMV, and Gero is such an underrated villain. I wish that he was around for a longer time though, it would’ve been interesting to see him interact with Cell and Android 16…

Dr. Gero is to the Cell Saga what Raditz was to Saiyan. Both are weak and don't offer much in terms of combat but the shadow of both can be felt.
To think that Dr Gero created androids that are more powerful than Frieza without even knowing who Frieza was. 😂

I really wish Toriyama had thought of Gero back in Ball. Imagine seeing him working in the backgrounds, studying Goku to figure out his weaknesses. And being flabbergasted from having a mere child destroy his machines of war, and have that same kid destroy the entire faction he worked for, and have his son killed because of him. Just for him to comeback in Z with a new body, and a thirst for vengeance.

Surprising there’s a lot of footage of Gero. Even though he didn’t do much besides creating the androids and Cell.
He has a much bigger impact on the DB series when you stop and think about it.
Dr. Gero is one of those villains that you have to wounder if the writter was originaly planing to have them be more involved but than looking at the story the fealed it would just end up dragging the whole story out
i was literally just wondering if dr gero would ever get a video on the channel last night lol, glad to see he finally got one! i'm glad to see him being appreciated too, though definitely not as cool as some other villains he's definitely left a great mark on the dragon ball world. i really wish we got more time with gero, though his replacements were probably better in the long run, i still think he could've been pretty interesting for awhile. i really enjoy all the lore and additions to his character too, non canon or not, i find dr gero to be a pretty cool character within the dragon ball roster

With some hindsight, Dr. Gero would be way better and even more dastard if 17 and 18 escaped because they knew he was trying to have Cell absorb them and he spent the arc chasing after them alongside a future imperfect cell, now even more parallel to future Trunks
AND THEN USED ANDROID 19 AS A CREEPY TERMINATOR MIME MONSTER WITH MAYBE A FREAKISH DOLL-HOUSE INSPIRED SECOND FORM TO HELP HIM HUNT THEM DOWN

Cell
Dr. Gero is pretty much DB’s best example of the “small role, big impact” trope. In trying to destroy Goku through the Androids and Cell, he accidentally wound up saving the whole universe. Hope that we get to see more of “Prime” Gero and his past before he became Android 20, it’d be nice to see him in proper mad scientist mode.

Got to wonder what the original plans for Gero were.The fact he's gotten more lore than any other villain over the years clearly means Toriyama has a soft spot for the character
Dr. Gero a very interesting Villain that definitely deserves more screen time in my opinion. But still a very cool scientist Villain.

That was really cool! Dr. Gero and Android 19 are honestly some of my favourite characters from the DB franchise, that really needed some spotlight. This certainly went above and beyond showing off his prowess and inventions. The song also works exceptionally well too, which can be hard with fandom based songs like these. I'm impressed!
This goes really hard (and even made me giggle with how you synced up "walking down the hall" to the only bit of footage of Gero that worked for it, I really liked that.). I am a HUGE fan of this song, Dr. Gero, and your amvs. Because of that, I kinda wanna make my own version of this amv and if I do I'll send it to you bc I've been watching your edits since like 8th grade (I'm graduating college in like a year, for reference on how long of a span of time that is)

Really underrated character in the franchise and I really wish we would have seen interact with the other RR army like commander red, android 8, etc., heck I wanted him and cell to meet as well.
