  • The little girl playing Annie broke our hearts. Her voice is melodic and lovely and genuinely expressive. In other songs she did belt. However it was apporpriate. Proving that her voice could fill a hall (and it could) was not her main purpose. I think she is about 9 or 10 yrs old, yet she performs like she has trained for decades. We loved the chemistry she had with Daddy Warbucks. Pretty sure they have known each other for several years to put across the kind of sincerity that they did. At 1st glance we thought they were related as their surnames are Balon and Barton. I would like to know if the little girl has been in any other Broadway-like productions. If anyone has the opportunity to see this years Broadway Across America, Annie don't pass it by . If for no other reason than to see Balon and Barton.

+Alex Rolleston I *love* the way Warbucks said his line -- almost as though he was just at that moment realizing that he was capable of loving someone.

@@detectivefiction3701 yeah and the very dark moment of the musical annie on broadway is that annie had to learn the death of her real parents named david and margaret bennett and they never did come back for annie or to claim her to mend the other half of the broken locket, and she reveals that she really is an orphan after all and her parents died from a contagious stomach illness together and they were both really killed from it on december 28th 1922 and they didn't get a doctor to bring them back to life they were dead, and i think that's what made this moment so dark in the entire broadway stage play.
