Not exactly the same case. Durbin got ambushed in a dark backyard by a cockroach. The deputy shot a guy who answered the door with a gun in his hand, possibly lowered. He miiight get off by totality of the circumstances. Both are DV calls, but they're very different cases.

I agree with this cheif! I know I want to be a police officer and I life in Cuyahoga falls Ohio. But it’s sad why people don’t show cops respect anymore. Because they help and show respect every day.

This all starts from the Whitehouse with our so-called president by doing nothing about what is going on. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of the officer. This is another sad day for all lawinforsment.

This press conference is a whole lot of emotional fluff and vague pronouncements about “respect for law enforcement.” The Chief’s main point seems to be that his 23-year-old officer, Jacob Durban, was killed in the line of duty. Durban was responding to a call about a man who was threatening his child’s mother and grandmother. When officers went to check the backyard of the residence, they were ambushed by the suspect. Durban was shot and later died from his injuries. The suspect, who was heavily armed, was later found dead in an apartment complex in Shaker Heights. While the police are claiming it was a “self-inflicted gunshot wound," they are being suspiciously vague about the details of the suspect's death, avoiding revealing whether or not there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the police. What they’re not telling us is what exactly happened at that apartment complex and what role the police played in the suspect’s death. Instead of actual information, we’re getting a whole lot of emotional appeals and calls for “respect for law enforcement,” which feels like an attempt to deflect from the unanswered questions surrounding this case.

It’s sad how this Cheif is obviously showing his bias in the case!! No type of words of compassion for the other Family or kids involved ( or any “original man”) . Even after they murdered the 24 yr old young man instead of taking him in alive ( scared he might not be convicted to death) they still showed his loved ones 0% respect or compassion!! This is really a sad occasion.
