Thankfully, we are able to watch and see what is going on down there and prepare.

Is that recent footage of baltzell? Were you able to paddle to it from the launches up north? Thanks!

Brian, You cannot reach it from the launch at Christoff's Ferry (the one north of it) without doing a whole lot of portaging. The launch at Florida Caverns is closed right now and there remains a lot of debris in the river. The Upper Chipola remains a mess from Hurricane Michael.

To get to the 10 springs at Daniel Springs, launch at Lilypad Adventures on SR 2 in Campbellton, FL. Baltzell Springs is on the Upper Chipola Paddling Trail, which is really clogged up with downed trees and debris from Hurricane Michael right now, but when Florida Caverns State Park reopens, that's the place to launch and paddle up one-mile. Blue Hole Springs is also in the park. Check with both Lilypad Adventures at (850) 326-4884 and Florida Caverns at (850) 482-1228 before going to make sure they are open and to check on current conditions!
