fantastic video!! no small talk / filler. Very relaxing to watch. I get overwhelmed by talking, so this is perfect for a visual learner like me. You are amazing!
I'm just learning so this is really helpful! I wasn't sure about my hand throwing bowls because they didn't seem perfect enough. This makes me appreciate them more 😊
Just recently discovered pottery and just found you! I have just marathon watched so many of your teachings and I just had to reach out to thank you for taking the time to make these instructional videos! You have made a difference in this North Alabama USA girls life! I’ll be watching all your videos for sure!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, your hand-building technique is truly amazing! I love how you effortlessly create these unique and organic forms. Definitely inspiring me to give it a try myself. Keep up the fantastic work!
Thankyou for explaining, why you studio looks different. This came up for me to watch, I hadn't noticed the date, that why I was confused, it doesn't take alot, however back to you, will take a look at your page as odd videos come up that I haven't seen. So you are working hard producing or I am not keeping up. Sorry for my ramble, it's a Sunday afternoon, the weather is wet and windy, so a perfect afternoon for watching UA-cam 😊
How can I get my foot in the door of pottery if most studios require you to have 30-40 pieces to be able to fire them for you? What options or places can I look for if I want to juat make a few pieces to try out?
I love your approach with glazing since it was always so stressfull to me...seing how you manage to be comfortable with drips and irregular lines, it kinda loosen me a little, just watching your work ethic. Love it! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this great video! I have a question: minute 6:09: stacking like this can cause problems. Could you explain why? I don‘t understand … thank you!
Very nice work I love the final result of the glazing Actually I used the same technique with slab on a model plates that I bought for this purpose. I bisque fired them at 950 in local atelier I was wondering if you can share the glaze you used for your plates, color and brand if possible
I am brand new to this and trying to figure out firing in my electric kiln. So pleased to have found your channel💕. I am using an earthenware clay in my small electric kiln. I noticed you fired your stoneware very low for bisque. 900/ 1652 then high for the glaze. Is earthenware different.
Hi! i was watching very carefully when you were glazing the big dishes - are you not worried about the thickness of the glaze? or do you make it rather on the watery side? usually when I glaze I have to shave off a little glaze, so it won't become too thick, since it may drip onto the bottom of the oven (is it's on the sides). You do it so freely, I wish I was that confident.
So much depends on the glaze itself. This is a super dependable glaze that doesnt run really. Know your glazes and you can always put a “cookie” underneath if youre worried about it running.
Hello. Thanks for your videos. Could you tell me the type of clay you use? and where to get that mold for the plates? It's wood I guess? Can it be purchased at a specialized store? Thank you very much again.
So, after first "baking" you use the transparent one on your bisquit? And this lighter part (on the center of plate) is visible becouse you put the second layer of glass on your bisquit?
Never sand when is’t bisk!! 🙏 you need to sand before bisk, gently with a dish scrubber. Before bisk, the particules are heavy and less harmfull. After bisk, it can be risky for your lungs
You can sand by wetting the piece and using specific sandpaper that can be used wet or dry. The only thing is you then need to wait until the piece is dry again before glazing.
I sand my bisque pieces and the result is great. I wet the piece and frequently do so as sanding, and use a diamond sander block. Everyone has their own way, as long as it’s safe it’s right.
In better terms, the clay contains silica which his harmful for your lungs and can cause in easy word lung cancer. But the risk come from not just sanding, but also not having the right workspace, vaccuming your work space, all cleaning g should be done wet. Even glazes have that same harmful effect. So therefore if you choose and need to sand a piece , you absolutely can, you just need to wet sand or you can even sand directly under running water. Just need to wait at least 24 hrs before glazing . Even sanding leather hard clay can still have the same harmful effect as bisqueware.
I recently got a mug on Etsy for my grandma’s birthday, I didn’t know it was a “paint ur own ceramic mug” till i already ordered and it’s really cute so I’d like to try and paint and glaze it but I have no idea how the fuck and what the duck to do and if I’m supposed to fire it up? So the glaze can dry plz help rip
She’s setting the pottery directly onto the shelf it looks like and glaze can stick and basically seal to the shelf of the kiln. There are setups you can use though to allow you to glaze the bottom. I’m not expert though haha I haven’t taken pottery since I was in college.
I love the lack of music and just being able to hear the sounds of making!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the way you work, without a lot of tools and water splashing around !
fantastic video!! no small talk / filler. Very relaxing to watch. I get overwhelmed by talking, so this is perfect for a visual learner like me. You are amazing!
That looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I agree. I love the NO music and natural sounds of making.

Love the organic minimalist style. It's interesting how your glaze looks white wear it was doubled.
I just got my very first slab of clay and glaze to try pottery and this video was exactly what I needed to help me find my feet! Thank you!
Oh Ella you are in for a very fun addiction 😊
Your good days have begun. Welcome to the bliss of clay. 🥰

Dein Video ist so erfüllend. Danke❤
I am new to hand building. Loved watching your video! Thank you for sharing and teaching.
Woah, your hand-building skills are absolutely on point! Love how you effortlessly create such unique, organic shapes. Keep up the awesome work!

I can so relate! I used to get stressed about glazing too. Ok I still do sometimes. But it helps me to embrace the organic look 👌

Your videos are wonderful to watch. You are a fantastic instructor.
Se ven hermosas las piezas, saludos desde Tequixquiac México
I like the irregular line best! 😊
Wie immer ein tolles Video… freu mich schon auf das Nächste 😆
Love this tutorial! QUESTION: How do you keep the bowls from rocking? Do you do something to flatten them at the bottom ?
I would love to know this as well!!
Love the minimalistic beauty of these bowls!😻
So the molds you used are just bowls you threw and trimmed on the weel? How thick are the walls?
I love the irregular line!! Nice tutorial!!!
Very nice work
I love the final result of the glazing
Actually I used the same technique with slab on a model plates that I bought for this purpose. I bisque fired them at 950 in local atelier

Is the glaze used here semi-translucent, opaque, translucent or clear? I like the “kiss” it forms.

Beautiful! Can’t wait to make one!
These are so beautiful!! 😍 I think I prefer the irregular one!
same 😄
Great video and the bowl look amazing end so pretty colour thanks for sharing
your work is more than amazing!!! love it!!!
thank you! 🥰
I have never seen such a small banding wheel before. It's exactly what I need
its very handy!
I came here to say the same thing! I’d love to buy something like this. Where can we find one?
Great tutorial! I'm a fan of the irregular lines myself. 😄
yeah! straight is boring!
Is the glaze you used all the same color? It looks like 2 colors... love them! Thank you.
Yes, and what is the color of the glaze used????
Would you ever want to consider adding a foot ring to these? I prefer the irregular line. Both are beautiful though.
you can definitely add a footring! I would use the mold to support the form while attaching. I find them more functional without the ring though.
Me encanta ! Gracias ❤
I really like it I LOVE IT ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 GOOD STUFF
Thank you for your beautiful lesson!
Absolutely gorgeous!! 🏺💕
Awesome, love your style! Cool way to make organic forms! Thanks for making this video!
Beautiful pieces
the work i mostly do is this or pressing in a mold since i am halfsided handicapped
Good stuff I like the quality
Thankyou. Loved watching this x
So soothing to watch you.... ❤
Looks great! Great tutorial and interesting to see all the stages to finished plates!
Do you know how to make a cracked looking endge on plates and bowl? if so, could you make a video on it?
do you mean a torn edge? Send me a photo on IG @potterytothepeople because I’m not sure exactly what you mean. 🙂
@@PotterytothePeople give me a minute!
Could you send us an update on this inquiry? Thanks
How does it create a line down the middle? Because essentially the overlapped glaze has an extra layer forming the line?

😍😍so beautiful

Great content and awesome video
Nice to watch the video
Hello.. do you have a template for making ceramic plates?
About how much clay would you start with?
Awesome, thank you
Beautiful!
Is the board you roll your slabs on canvas over plaster?
What color glaze is that??? It looks gray in some shots and taupe in another.
I love the end-result
lovely! thank you!
Is this save for cooking?
Awesome!
where you get the forms from in karachi?
very nice 🥰
Seyretmek huzur veriyor😊🇹🇷
What is the surface you're rolling the clay on?
How you prepare glaze.plz tell
On occasion I've had to use canned air to help separate clay from mold.
How thick is the slab?
How much heat use for pots
Danke!
Danke dir! 🥰

Sand outside, with a respirator if it's bisque
We have the same … EXACT hair lol! But I digress … ☺️
nice wonderful
This was such an Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your process! I’m wondering why your clay doesn’t stick to the bisque mold. Mine often does :(
might be your clay is too wet? You can let it sit as a slab for a little while to dry out.
@@PotterytothePeople thank you! I bet that’s it. So helpful :) have a great day
Excuse me to advise you to sand your work before the first burn .... it will be .more better in the finishing time and results .
What is glaze?
I recently got a mug on Etsy for my grandma’s birthday, I didn’t know it was a “paint ur own ceramic mug” till i already ordered and it’s really cute so I’d like to try and paint and glaze it but I have no idea how the fuck and what the duck to do and if I’m supposed to fire it up? are you using stoneware or earthenware clay?
its stoneware ☺️
Why do you wash the glaze off the bottom of the bowls?
She’s setting the pottery directly onto the shelf it looks like and glaze can stick and basically seal to the shelf of the kiln. There are setups you can use though to allow you to glaze the bottom.
I’m not expert though haha I haven’t taken pottery since I was in college.
Do you have clay on your camera like I do?
yes 😆
I've tried hump molds a few times, I always end up with cracks from the rim into the bowl or platter. Drying too fast?
❤❤❤
😍🍀
💖
not my cup of tea.
