Thats part of why i love building these foxbodys. That feeling you get when you take something that looks used and beat up and turn its into something your proud of.
Caleb, there's NOT a younger guy, anywhere, that comprehends, we're the ones that modified our cars before most of them could even walk. They're used to crazy numbers as the norm. We got, off the shelf, 225 on the strongest side, for a starting place. Simple knowledge is what separates them from us. Am I saying I know everything? Not for anything. If I got a car to be able to hold traction, I was siked. The production numbers that I achieved back then, were bad ass then. Now, a 'yote makes stupid numbers and not even think about doing it. We had to work for every jump we made. You have the crown jewel of intakes for a 5.0 and you're right at the car being able to be shown and it win best of whatever. It's immaculate.
I want one just love them and yes I know there are better flowing manifolds out there. I painted my explorer manifold with the cast aluminum paint and your right it looks amazing.
I used this intake on all of my pushrod 5.0 builds for about 10 years. I still have one intake and the display plaque waiting for me to buy a 1993 Cobra. I want to build it as a "Day 2" car. Very clean, but I just can't live with 240 horsepower anymore.
Love it! My cousin before she passed had a nearly identical GT. And my rear end in my camaro in highschool before my GT fell prey to many! Didn't know what that intake was prior to this video but love it and have seen that before lol after a race or 2 back in the day! Thanks man! Great Video!
So wierd that I comment last video on how much these are going for then you come out with one restored. Bam! Really cool looking piece. I thought I remembered seeing these sitting in the lanes and some has covers that said gt40 on then some where. Who knows, maybe some other company made name plates you could get for them that were different or personalized, that was kinda of a thing back in the early 2000’s, when I had mine.
Working on my bone stock 90, cant decide on keeping it stock or doing gt40 heads cam intake. Either way I go I hope to use 90s period correct parts. I miss cruising in the 90s. That white Fox takes you back... nice car.
There's a guy on ebay who sells several different covers for the GT40 tubular. They look pretty nice. I put one of these on my '91 LX about 25 years ago. When I open the hood at shows, the first thing anybody asks is if I want to sell my intake. I wish I had bought 5 of them. After all these years, i can't believe how much money they sell for.
There was someone in Maine where I live selling a fox for cheap because of the strut towers. It had on of those intakes. Couldn’t get the guy to sell just the last couple intake. It was the only one I seen in 25 years
Beautiful intake indeed. 1 occasionally pops up for sale up here near me but I agree $1200 is a chunk of change right now. I'm not there pulling the trigger for it..... yet. Just to have a piece of Motorsport history next to my '91 GT would be special to me.
I going to be old school amazing, once dip your toe in the pool water, eventually you are going to jump in, you kinda know at some point in time some mods are going to happen. It's what owning Mustangs are all about.
Its gona looks great ones you get that plaque on there.I really like the look of the GT40 boy back in the 90s when ppl saw that was the shit!!! You had a fast 300 hp car😂
Anybody know if there is a wider front lower control arm other than adjustable ones for aftermarket k member? I've read somewhere that sn95s are wider but haven't been able to verify that
@@FoxcastMedia They are getting hard to find. I want another set so I can add motion raceworks breathers on them. Most aftermarket aluminum VC can't guarantee they won't leak but OE are perfect.
I love that all these things are period correct, this is the kinda stuff back in the day all stock Fox owners were jealous of
Got me one of these over at bigdogs porting getting the stage 3 job going on my motor for my AU xr8 falcon ute here in Australia.
Thats part of why i love building these foxbodys. That feeling you get when you take something that looks used and beat up and turn its into something your proud of.
Good looking Bundle of Snakes! I have always loved those!
Those are the best looking intakes of all times, even though not the best performing, but well worth it for looks

Well said buddy!🙏
I bought the GT40 intake years ago around $300. Value has sure increased on that purchase 😃
I want one just love them and yes I know there are better flowing manifolds out there. I painted my explorer manifold with the cast aluminum paint and your right it looks amazing.
Love the push rod talk...can't wait to see your car back your killing me..🤟🔥
Ever since I bought my 93cuupe that was the number one intake I wanted it took several years looking and a good price now it's on my Foxbody😁

Yeah 240 HP is BORING lol
Man that is the bees knees 👍 old school cool
I remember people who couldn't find the GT40 manifolds. Used to take the manifolds from 97+ 5.0 Explorers. They had to modify them to make them work.
All you have to do is drill and tap the intake runner for the ATC sensor
Nice retro build. Agree Gt40 intakes are the period look but pricey like you said.

I love this idea!

Looks great Caleb, awesome video. I love the parts from back in the day.
Its period correct, therefore it makes it perfect!

I like the stock look with simple mods. Thanks!

Yea I'm in NH. There's a guy in somersworth that wants 1600 for one

Noice. Got a polished one on my 91
Yup best looking intake around I like them without that cover 😎
really nice looking gt. the car. i have a love/ hate relationship with the turbines and cheesegraters myself. but.....she looks good man
Turbines will be gone soon, just did it to make it look 100% original
pony wheels would look good on it. i loved a clean gt on ponies back in the day. you build really nice cars brother.
Its gona looks great ones you get that plaque on there.I really like the look of the GT40 boy back in the 90s when ppl saw that was the shit!!! You had a fast 300 hp car😂
Heck in 1992 I was 18 and graduate to lol
How much does the GT40 upper plenum weight? Lighter than the Hartman?
They are pretty light, big difference from the stock HO
Thanks. I ask b/c I don't think any of the foxbody youtubers have done a extreme lightweight v8 build for the street. @@FoxcastMedia
Makes me feel bad. Going to have to go wash my lightning intake manifold
Now you gotta do the throttle body.... Lol
Its got a 70 mm on it already, so we are good!
@@FoxcastMedia I meant getting it painted
@@blindabinda1234lol I told him it's a never ending problem 😂😂
Are the covers really worth a grand? maybe i should get mine off the shelf
I hear different folks say to NOT paint aluminum intakes because it traps the heat in the intake in turn heating the air. Any truth to that?
Anybody know if there is a wider front lower control arm other than adjustable ones for aftermarket k member? I've read somewhere that sn95s are wider but haven't been able to verify that
You wanna sell those old valve covers? Only if they do not have those braces inside.
They are just cleaned up and sprayed, nothing special
