Thank you for a superb presentation. Excellent job.
Thank you
How much money do you think that video has saved people?
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful!
Takes some time but save a lot of cash.
Thanks for doing this. My neighbor has an older Mercedes and all 5 of her belts were loose enough squeal. This really made it go much faster because I didn't have to discover how to do something first time.
Its a lot easier doing it after watching someone do it first. That is why I make the videos.
My 1984 500 SEL needed to almost detach the power steering pump to get new belts in place. The length was same than old one according to markings, still was quite tricky. Thanks for useful video, greetings from Finland!
Finland - it gets super cold in the winter. Here in Silicon Valley, California (Sunnyvale), we are so spoiled. People get mad when it goes to 33 F in the winter. It only rains, no snow.
Do they use salt on the roads to melt the ice and snow?
@@davidlis6709 Nowadays we get about -20...-25C at the worst in southern Finland, but in the north it is easily -30C and colder during few months. And yes, the roads are salted mostly in southern part of the country.
Personally I enjoy warm summer but after the winter even our modest +20C summers feel awesome 8-)
@@Bashi88 I hate the cold. I grew up in Amsterdam, New York State. It would go to -30F. And snow. Today, if I want to see snow, I turn on the TV.
The cars only last about 12 years because they rust to nothing.
Yes thid was usefull i did it for my w126 1985 500 sel i changed the alternator belt verry easy with this video made my day grtz from belgium
Not hard, it just takes time.
Belgium is a long way from California but it is on my visit list when this covis crap is over.
What’s the part number for the belt you got?
Thanks for the detailed video. I look forward to changing mine.
Take your time and do one at a time.
Thanks David! Your video really helps
thank you thank you great video really help me out i put a 300d in my 1971 280 my name is 83 so i call her the 283
Just what I needed. Thank you.
Not that hard
@@davidlis6709 I did it! I made a video and referenced your video. Thank you
@@sophiathe380sl Great. Can I see it?

@@sophiathe380sl Looks good. Next time show the tools on the bolts so people have a reference.
Nice car...red ..it looks like it is going fast when it is parked.
Thank you for this video. I see the alternator belt snapped, what happens incase one of the power steering belts runs off pulley, the one on the back side of the pulley. Can this cause other damage within engine or not?
It will probably make a lot of noise. If the belts are not connected and the pump stops working, it will steer real hard.
Thanks David! Would you list the part number for each belt please
Sorry, I have no idea. I took the old belts to the auto parts store and they gave me the right ones. I compared them at the store.
Not the Mercedes dealer
wow
It is not that hard, just follow the video and do one belt at a time.
