    Interesting. Interesting bcuz I think everything ur doing for rex 121 is just a different approach. I'm definitely picking up a stone in the fall. The finished product will be probably very hard to let go. Given how things are playing out, I'm witnessing a masterpiece in progress 🤘

    How does CPM Rex 121 compare with CTS Maxamet? I view these as the two gladiators of the modern super steels.

      @@southerncross100 I haven't settled on a particular steel or shape I like. I enjoy living creativity and exploring. Otherwise I can't learn what I need to push the performance.

    Do super steels really matter if you're not just cutting cardboard all day? I bring many different steels to work and cut all kinds of stuff, they all seem to dull around the same time. I'll have to touch every steel I've tried when I get home so is there really a benefit?

      How you sharpen them is extremely important for the longevity of the sharpness.

    Think Japanese had it right with softer steel in the middle with hard metal sandwiched on top for durability.

    Rex 121 is hard to come by. Whether it's the scrap yard or Aliexpress.
