Mad respect to Kiwis too. Never make excuses for not winning every WC, just dogged determination to win every single game. That's crazy. As an All Black fan I never knew much about Rassie Erasmus or Siya Kolisi beyond the rugby pitch. But with this RWC I have gained so much respect for both the captain and this coach. He’s so humble in victory and just as gracious in defeat. He might be leaving his head coach role but my takeaway from this World Cup (other than Japan) is this team led by this man. I can’t even be mad that we got knocked out the RWC. South Africa wanted it more and seeing how much it means to their nation, deserve it more. Much respects to Rassie and co. Looking forward to wrestling with you over world no. 1 and 2 spots over the next 12 years!

What an example of gracious humility he showed and he showed up certain other coaches and players who displayed poor behaviours in this tournament. He is proof that nice guys can finish first! Nothing, but nothing in World sport, let alone rugby, makes me more anxious, excited, proud and expectant than a Springbok v All Blacks game...it's the ultimate challenge of our mutual passion for rugby....it's more than just a game....it is a claim to nationhood and tradition....our "manne" against your mana...(same pronunciation)....one missed tackle or a momentary misjudgement could cost the game....even at ten points up with ten minutes to go makes me even more nervous as a predictable final assault on the scoreboard is unleashed! Innovator, Game-changer and firm believer that the boks are 'STRONGER TOGETHER'...you never hear quota-players label on the black players in the team since he started coaching because Rassie picked them based on form and potential and not colour of skin (just to make the number) and so the black players felt they belonged and performed to the best of their abilities!.....Never bothered with trash talks in build-up to games, always praising the opposition regardless of game outcome, always respectful during interviews....and here, not prideful to admit that they want to be as consistent as the ABs, a very humble coach!....As a kid, had watched him on TV playing for the boks when he was still in his prime, so glad to see him now still in his prime but as a world-cup winning coach on his first attempt!!

Without being nasty…but let’s be honest, England has a tendency to hype their players so much they end up scaring them from reaching their full potential because they will play with massive nerves. I do watch rugby by football is my first love, I don’t think it’s by choice but rather by circumstances because I grew up in the time when there was zero exposure to rugby and remember that time one could not even see the springboks in action as SA was banned from international sport; so I’ll bring football players in as examples….Theo Walcott was taken to the World Cup at 17 and was a squad member even though he had a broken leg! Someone convinced the English that he was the next Pele, so he was labelled the ‘up and coming next best Thing in football’! Well, he’s about to retire and he’s still up and coming, just not in the direction everyone hoped for! Oxlaide-Chamberlain had the same hype, Peter Crouch, the lanky clumsiest man to ever play football was tipped to be the top goal scorer at one of the World Cup tournaments but he obviously was found wanting when needed because they were not playing the likes of Estonia and Montenegro at the World Cup like they were in the build up when they said all those things about him! With Roberto Carlos of Brazil still active and playing for Brazil they once declared Joe Cole the best left back in the World! The likes of Sterling got the same hype…and the list is endless!!!

you know i respect this man for admitting they arnt the greatest but they are going to work hard to be "consistent" like the all blacks which makes them the greatest team in the world.
the key word here is "consistent" which england where not thinking about, they were only thinking of beating the all blacks and forgetting there are other teams in the world.
    well done

As a South African : Rassie is a example of what it will take as a Human Beings in South Africa to make a change, we have so many sad and depressing news every day, from farm murders, corruption and all the nonspeaking evils rather not to mention. Our Country is hanging on the brink of collapse, if this will change the course of our history to the better is yet to see, I hope it will.

James Ramone you're welcome anytime, lol. But my ABs I believe are heading in to an uncertain next 2-3 seasons which I fear will mean we will have to endure having to seem them lose games more often. Main reasons for concern is that quite a few other teams have well and truly matched us talent wise, and also our next coaching team to be may not be as good as the previous one. Also our own talent base is being diluted due to competition from other countries and other sporting codes.

@@silajeep1 Yep , it will be Interesting to see how this next period by the A.B's will unfold, no doubt the talent is there in N.Z from what I've seen in super rugby there plenty. It will come down to other countries maintain and develop their players in the next 4 year cycle. Looking forward to next W.C in France no doubt the N.hemisphere sides will want to take the honours
