“I’ve only been a police officer for twenty years!”. That response exemplifies the _”do not betray our brotherhood”_ . Let’s remember this is only 12 survivors who came forward. The absolute majority of rape and abuse victims never, ever come forward. This is compounded significantly, if even possible, when your abuser *is* the police.
If you think police abusers don’t explicitly use their position as a threat, you’re sorely mistaken.
Wishing the survivors and those who love them, whether they reported it or not, every healing, happiness, and moments of joy.

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! So he's been given 36 life terms, but he'll serve "a minimum of 30 years" - that, right there, sums up everything that is wrong with this country. 36 life terms should be 360 years, but we don't do prison sentances in this country anymore, do we? Suprised they didn't just give him a bracelet and let him go.

Phone conversations, private meetings, all work actions. Should be a price of their work that they are accountable all day every day.
