I dont know if this guy is the best, he's down-right wicked. His timing was on par during the whole video, and also the speed into which he put everything onto is nuts. The double bass was good, the speed of his sticks were amazing, and the speed at which he moved around is quite difficult to accomplish. I've been playing since I was six and am now almost 17. This guy is still much better than me and he put in the work to get to where he's at now. Hats off to you my man.

I didn't watch this video the first few times I saw it. Then I thought, ok, let's watch it, but get ready to hit the pause button. I must say that I am very glad I took the time to watch this video. There is no doubt that this young man's skills on the drums are truly remarkable. He definitely didn't learn those chops and rhythms and rudiments because he is dumb and uncoordinated. He has definitely put in some hard study and practice time to get to that skill level. On the flip side I will guarantee you there are other musicians in this world coming out of the wood work with skills equally good that would blow your mind. Such is the world of instrumental music.
I respect anyone willing to bust a cold solo out of nowhere at a party. Pretty solid brother.

They might think “oh yeah, he’s really good” but the insane amount of talent that goes into being a top notch drummer is far more than anybody realises. Amazing Drummer. totally my style. He gave each each piece in his kit a slittle solo. Love doing that. Makes it fell like a whole band of drummers.
I doubt he titled this video though. "Worlds Greatest" is what spectators attach to any high level drummer they see play solo live. No drummer will claim they are the greatest. There is infinte styles and techniques to learn.
I bet he has his heros he looks up to as the Greatest.

The drum solo is musical and captivates the audience. People are having a good time and being entertained. What more could you ask for? I wonder if any of those posting negative comments would be willing to travel back in time to that exact moment and try to steal the spot light.

I had to give him a thumbs-up because he has great control he's holding his sticks correctly, I'm not a drummer, but I'm a professional guitarist and I can appreciate what he's doing.

Moss Fett Why do you say he is holding the sticks correctly? There are at least 4 well known grips that are considered correct? He just happens to be using a traditional grip. I play both traditional and matched, it totally depends on the type of music you are playing and what is most comfortable. For a jazz influenced style like his, the grip is usually traditional; to that end, you are correct.

Great sounds can come from small drums, as evidenced here. I like the lighter sound of this smaller kit. And with smaller drums comes more of an economy of motion, so there's another benefit. And could you imagine lugging a full-sized kit around to do gigs like this?

I know I have, I went to school with him, I had the same drum teacher as him. Don't bash the drummer because of the video title. The title doesn't even claim that he is the best. I watched this video before I met Dylan ua-cam.com/video/bHDjGtj18X0/v-deo.html When I watched this I found myself standing cheering and clapping in front of my computer and said to my self "that guy is the world's greatest drummer." I then searched to find out what he has been up to more videos or anything. I couldn't find much just Dylan touring schools, at that moment I decided to create a UA-cam channel find people like Dylan Elise and promote them to the world. Then some magic happened I am not sure when two weeks or a month later I decided to go to the sevens rugby after party to maybe film some buskers and put them on the channel. I Walked down the street armed with a new camera and Dylan was busking. I was star struck at first and just said "are you that drummer on UA-cam Dylan?" he replied "yes" I nervously asked if I could film him and the rest you can see.
When I got home I studied how videos get seen on UA-cam and found a key word tool and the most searched keywords were "world's best drummer" "best drummer" I thought, well I thought he was when I watched his other video so put a question mark and ask the question. Now I ask myself did it work? then I look at this webpage www.bloodsweatandtears.com/ This is what Bobby Colomby says

I am sure if Dylan wanted the title changed he would message me. No money was the driver behind this channel just a passion for music. Later on UA-cam contacted me and offered a partnership and asked if I would like to earn an income. To date we have paid thousands of dollars to Dylan and will continue to do so. YouOriginal has also given new instruments and amps to buskers on the streets this video came from.

+Jacob Suckling I was with Dylan last week here in SYDNEY before he started the Australian Tour with Blood Sweat & Tears. After leaving NZ and drumming for Sons of Zion...good to see him chasing his dreams in the US.
Yeah, makes me wonder what I could have become of I continued drumming like he did
