I drive a Mitsubishi Diamante. I was in a significant impact in the vehicle. I was completely unharmed. The car was pretty messed up though. The vehicle was repaired, and is still running well today.

I have a 2004 model. So im going to guess that my model was influenced by this models safety. Going to guess the design was improved apon.
