If anyone watching this is put off by Nagatoro's ruthless bullying I urge you to keep watching, the show gets so much more wholesome :D
Honestly, a lot of people say she's ruthless in this first episode. (And this first interaction seems a bit harsher in the dub compared to sub.) But compared to the original webcomic this series came from she might as well be a sweet heart in her first appearance.
I've seen many popular anime and some visual novels where bullying, abuse, and sexual abuse is MUCH worse, to the point where it makes Nagatoro's teasing fairly tamer.
Honestly I have seen the manga and I have read every chapter it gets really wholesome

Nagatoro was animated really well. I liked how they captured all of the crazy facial expressions that she made in the manga to a tee.

This is the first time I’m watching this show and I love this episode. I feel bad for poor Senpai. He doesn’t deserve to be pushed around and get embarrassed and suffering from crying in front of a cute girl. But from my point of view he should be lucky.

And the joke is that she act that way only around him because she actually enjoy being with him... 😂

You know I always thought Nagatoro was a psychopath playing a long-term mind game with Naoto. Just to crush him when he confesses he likes her.
Appearances, and some actions, can be deceiving.
She's basically a tsundere that cannot admit how she feels, so she instead teases. Instead of her having to feel embarrassed, she makes the other person feel embarrassed to regain a sense of control over her emotions. On the surface, it looks messed up, but the pathology on why she teases makes her kind of adorable imo, but also a bit immature because again, she cannot confess what she really feels. If you notice, she is constantly blushing when she teases him which gives her away.

Season 2 has been confirmed since October of last year, if you didn't know. No trailers nor release date as of yet though. Hopefully they will continue to adapt the manga well, fingers crossed.

The English dub is without a doubt interesting as the original Japanese audio. I have no complaints whatsoever over how either one sounds here for Nagatoro.
A pretty impressive of a surprisingly good series, starts out a bit rough cause it looks like the bullying to harsh but both main characters grow into really likable characters

The male VA here sounds more suiting for senpai. The Japanese/sub VA sounds so much more deeper and confident. The crying especially is much more emotional and fitting.
It always pleases me to not see sub purists commenting on these types of videos.

This Anime is so wholesome. I'm glad I watched it. I'm glad it got another season. I hope this Anime never ends. It became one of my favorite Animes. Including the Manga. I just love seeing Nagatoro toy with Senpai Naoto. You can tell they like each other more than just friends the further you get into the series. I can watch Noodletoro squiggle around Senpai all the time. Him getting flustered and shy around Nagatoro sometimes is priceless. Can't wait for them to kiss each other. Just a great wholesome Anime that will brighten up any bad day you might be having. So worth watching and reading.

when I saw the first episode of the series I thought it would be some revenge type of thing but boy was I wrong it turned out even better than I expected
We came a far way with these two. I almost didn't watch the next episode because of this one, but I'm glad I stuck with it.
Remember when anime fans were complaining that Nagatoro was going to trigger a bunch of snowflake “SJWs” because she initially starts out as a bully? And then the first episode aired and there was no controversy at all, except for one anime fan who went on a long Twitter tirade when Nagatoro used the word “sus”? And then those same fans went berserk when the dub cast was announced and a black woman was casted as Nagatoro?
Because I will never forget.
Yea a lot of people who hated Nagatoro because of the way she acted clearly did not watch past the first two episodes
The funny thing is that "sus" is a common australian slang, and didn't really originate from Amogus memes like a lot of people seem to think. If anything, it helped integrate the slang into the english lexicon for the rest of the world. :p
Worst part of it is that “sus” was already used in slang anywhere from the 30s to the 50s. It is quite literally older than all of us.

I keep telling people that dubs are getting better. It all started with Attack on Titan.
As someone who has been watching anime since the mid 90s, people have no idea how good they are now. I used to only watch subbed since the voice work was bad, but since I got back into anime and discovered how good the voice actors are now I only watch the dubs.
Personally I find that 2013 is the year from where the English voice work became very good, before that you still find some mediocre dubs.
