Yay!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it 😃 I remember you had suggested I do a Broadway video in the past, and I thought it was a wonderful idea. So I really have you to thank for this video's existence! 💜
I saw Beauty and the Beast on Broadway in 2004 when I was 12 bout to turn 13 and I loved it I really hope that one day it returns to Broadway one day I would actually watch it again
I saw Aladdin in 2015 and I remember it blowing me away especially the magic carpet. I intend on seeing Lion King either this summer or sometime next year
Saw Aladdin a few times and James Monroe Iglehart is absolutely fantastic as the genie. It was also super cool to have Jonathan Freeman reprise his role as Jafar.
Speaking as a performer, I kind of hate the Disney musicals - everything has to look and sound and feel EXACTLY like the movies, which for me is the opposite of what theater should be. Theater should bring out new things in a story, in the look, the atmosphere and how to play the characters. But the emphasis on the original movies is so strong that the sets and costumes have to look exactly like the movie, and the actors have to sound exactly like the movie. At least Taymor managed to do something original with the look of TLK, but every time I've seen it the actors are still trying to talk like Jeremy Irons and Nathan Lane, which ruins it for me. These musicals never find a new spin on things, which is what theater should do.
Beauty and the Beast was my first Broadway show. Saw it May 2003 at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre. From there, I saw Lion King, Newsies, and Frozen
I’ve see The Lion King on Broadway four times. And I saw Aladdin on broadway back in 2019
What a fantastically informed and fun video!! You’re a great and invigorating host too!!
Thank you Marianne!! That means so much to me 💜😊
You forgot to mention the hunchback of notre dame, I know it didn't make to Broadway, but it has to be mentioned.
I love Disney and Broadway so appreciate all their shows. I remember the origination of all this. My favorite of your videos so far!

So great. Aida is produced as Eye-Ee-Dah but I use to think the same thing when I was younger.
I love Disney Musicals. The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mary Poppins are my favorites.

Wow! That must have been an incredible show 😃 I'm still kicking myself for not seeing it when I was last in NY!!
Disney should bring Tarzan back to broadway. I feel like it had so much potential. That and The Little Mermaid
I was lucky enough to see the lion king and the little mermaid on its opening night
They also got musicals as well

Just letting you know Aida is pronounced "eye-yeet-a". All good tho, and great to see it in a more mainstream video😁
I've seen the lion king twic
