    I have a 2013 Maxda CX- 5 with 255,000 miles. I just replaced the fuel pump. It has been a good vehicle to own. Mostly oil changes and new tires.

      2.0 egine or 2.5? Those FWD 2.0 have been the most reliable out there. They just crunch miles like nothing.

    I have exactly the same 2013. It's a very good, practical, and reliable car, and good with fuel

    Come to Australia Mate. Mazdas are huge sellers and have been for over 50 years. The 3rd Gen 3 was for some years the biggest selling car in the whole country. Mazdas easy to service simplicity and reliability for our huge distances suit the pragmatic nature of Australians.

    Just drove tested 2013 FWD 2.0 with less then 100k miles. The engine runs like new, and that manual shifter is so butter smooth and short almost like MX-5. Great feeling to drive as middle class SUV to be honest.

    I own a 2014 Grand touring. I love it. It's been my favorite car so far. If you find a car that's under 100,000 mi for that year I would suggest jump on it like I did. I am a true proud Mazda owner🎉

    I'm on my second Mazda, just bought a new one. From my own experience it's just as reliable as the Toyotas and Hondas I've owned, less expensive and nicer on the inside. Fuel economy not great but I love the Mazda transmission, not a fan of the CVT's I've had so I don't mind the tradeoff. That's a good looking car you reviewed for 264,000 miles!

      Same here but I hadn't really had a chance to be up close with one until this video. Kinda fell in love with it to be honest. This and the Sienna were my two biggest surprises so far.

    I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 that just crossed over 200K miles (200,450 presently). The only problem are the coil packs. New ones are $150 EACH, but the coil packs from Amazon (4 for $100) will lead to misfires on any long trips.

    PLEASE CONFIRM: I heard that the diesel and automatic are giving more problems and is much more $$$$ to repair.

    I’ve owned two mazda CX5 SUVs, a 2013 sport, and currently a 2014 Touring 2.5. When new the 2.0 actually had decent low end torque for a 2-liter 4 and sounds better than the 2.5 but the 2.5 is much quicker overall. With the 2.0 the CX5 feels slightly more nimble due to 100 less pounds over the front axle. Now I live in New England where the DPW puts copious amounts of salt on the road and after 9 winters in my Touring but only 81,000 miles the rust is an issue, especially with the rear suspension. You may not see body rust but underneath behind those flat panels the cancer exists and your rear control arms might look really bad. Rear springs tend to break on these cars and squeaks and rattles may be present, especially with higher mileage cars. One issue is because the engine has direct injection only, carbon buildup on the intake valves will be an issue. I took my intake manifold off with just 75,000 miles on the car and cleaned my intake valves (an easy job to do on this engine) and they had about 1/4-inch of carbon buildup around the intake valves so with 264k miles I cant imagine your little 2.0 is making anywhere near 155 horsepower. After I cleaned my intakes valves I notices a decent increase in low end torque. The good thing is this engine is bulletproof and if you take care of it and clean those valves every 60k miles or so then it will be a reliable and inexpensive car to keep especially if you can do a lot of your own work. The Skyactive automatic transmission is also I think still one of the best automatic transmission’s for an economy SUV even though its only got 6 speeds. It has many of the good attributes of a manual transmission with direct 1:1 mechanical connection without any of the downsides of a manual obviously. I keep up on the rust by cleaning and painting the suspension and treating the underside with NH-Oil.

    I don’t have a problem with the review videos at all but I think I’ve just about reached full saturation with them for a bit, and I’d assume others probly feel similar. Just constructive criticism, not meant to be negative or a hate comment lol. As far as the car goes, I’ve worked on cars my whole life at our small family owned shop, and I’ve worked on very few Mazda’s. I always assumed they were just uncommon in my area, but not sure. Maybe they’re more popular elsewhere. They always seemed like decent affordable little cars to me, and I’d MUCH prefer one over a Kia or Hyundai if I was looking for a car of that size/type. At one point in time, it was kinda hard for us to get parts for Mazda cars, but I’m not sure if that’d still be an issue today or not. Being rare/uncommon is a negative trait to me but maybe outside the northeast where we are they’re not as uncommon. Anyway, keep makin content and hope to see some cool repair/build videos soon. Take care.

      Hey I really appreciate the comment. Trying to get as many project videos out as I can but with my other work I just don't have time to dedicate to those videos. The review videos are the quickest to make and they are generally the most profitable long term. That being said I totally get what you're saying and I hope you stick around to see the projects as we try to get more of them done. Thanks for watching!

    • @jesseleesamples

      @@TopLineRacer I totally get that and don’t blame you. If they make a profit I’d be pumpin em out too lol. Really though I think consistency is one of the biggest impacts for success on UA-cam that a lot of creators struggle with. Consistency in content and consistency in uploads is so huge. Also I think with automotive channels, a big plus is having a project that shows progress from week to week or video to video. Something people can follow and wanna watch the next video to see how it turns out. I know I like watching someone fix something over a few videos cause it almost feels like I was apart of the project and helped build it and it’s just nice to see something fixed or a project completed. I bet if you did just one video a week on a project or just fixing something and spaced these reviews out in between that, people would get less tired of them, and the consistency of knowing a video is gonna come out every so often would really keep people watching. I know there are some channels that always put out a build video on the same day every week and I literally plan my day around watching them. A lot of people I watch do build videos on Sundays so every Sunday night I sit down to dinner and watch and I look forward to it cause I know the video will be there every week. If someone doesn’t post for 2 weeks then posts randomly on a Tuesday, it’s easy to forget about them or even just not see the upload. But I’m just an idiot on the internet lol, you keep doing whatever you gotta do or can do and I’ll watch the videos man

    I'm here in Kuching, Sarawak and yes, I'm planning to buy a secondhand CX-5 2.0 which I think is still good enough to drive daily and even for long distance drive and adventure... Just avoid buying the diesel version.

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 2 місяці тому

      Unless you have a car picked out already, I'd go for the 2.5 version. Not sure where Kuching is, I'd guess Australia... Although Sarawak sounds Canadian too, so perhaps you don't have that engine option, but I'd find one if you do. The gas mileage is exactly the same. Also AWD only subtracts one MPG, so it's a good choice as well. Smart buy regardless.

    Your review says high mileage. It does not specify that mileage, nor at what mileage the alleged trans issues or oil leaks begin. Therefor the comments are more useful...

    • @TopLineRacer
      @TopLineRacer  Місяць тому +3

      It actually says 264,000 miles at 31 seconds into the video.
