  • OWA Haircare has launched a powdered hair wash that activates with water and friction from your hands. The shampoo is free of sulfates and other chemicals found in traditional liquid shampoo that can be damaging to hair. The brand is trying to reduce waste in the beauty industry by eliminating water from the production process, which typically makes up 80% of liquid shampoos. We put the shampoo to the test on different hair types to see how well it works compared to liquid shampoo.

For everyone saying that you still need water: YES obviously you still need water since you are showering. When they say waterless they are talking about the process of making the shampoo. Regular shampoo uses a lot of water to make and this uses no water at all.

This is not at all to say that having a product like this available is not beneficial or good or innovative. But if it's not very, very substantially changing the volume of water-full shampoo produced by other companies, it's not saving any appreciable amount of water. Some shampoo makers have already adopted production processes that slash the amount of water during production by over 75%. And you still need to use the same amount of water in your own shower, or possibly a bit more, to activate the powdered shampoo and rinse it out.

I don't think this product has claimed to replace shampoo and conditioner. Just shampoo, so I don't know what they were expecting with that one.

I will be honest it seem good and help us with environment. The product is vegan friendly and cruelty free but for 29 dollars. It not worth it value, they claim that it reduced gas cost, plastic, contain 11 ingredients or one more for smell,it should be a reasonable to a lower cost. Maybe it worth 60 washes but you can find shampoo that are vegan friendly and cruelty free for a reasonable price for less 29 in total. This is my own opinion, so don’t be hating, ok?!

I thought you can use the shampoo without having to wash your hair with water but it's rather that the shampoo is in powder form and you need to add water in it to lather and then wash regularly. I was mislead!

Y’all watch the rest of the video I thought the same but it’s actually called waterless because it’s just shampoo that’s made without water unlike other products which is 90% made of WATER so yeah it’s waterless you just gotta use water to use it

Actually you can get waterless shampoo that uses no water, and it’s not dry shampoo either. Check out Ting Tang or Nilaqua - it’s liquid shampoo, rub into your hair, towel off, style. No water needed.

the waterless part is that it isn't made with water. obviously you need water from the shower head to wash the rest of your body.

Who ever came up with this idea just just shammed everyone. It's the same as using power detergent as hair shampoo. It can damage your hair follicle causing excessive dryness. Which leads to breakage and split ends. Don't mean to sound like a hater but I would not purchase this product.
