I have three sons. (no daughters). The line “ Forget about the last one, get yourself another” is the best advice I ever gave them regarding girlfriends.
@@madidavis9617 My 35 year old has been with the same woman for about 7 years and i couldn’t wish for a better partner for him. The 22 year old is having way too much fun as a single working man and is way too busy for a permanent girlfriend. The 18 year old is still with his first girlfriend after a year. The intended message is, don’t let the end of a romance detract from the enjoyment of life. A couple of years back I was at some social gathering and in attendance was a man in his mid 30s absolutely devastated because his wife had left for some one else, fortunately no kids. His friends were concerned that he may take his own life. I piped up and said he should look on the bright side, he’s bound to have at least a couple of random sexual encounters before he dies which he probably wouldn’t have had if wife had stayed. Few thought my advice was appropriate . Several years later out of the blue he shows up and thanked me. New wife and their new born in tow. He and she couldn’t have looked happier, and I’m sure the little one was, (or would soon be) pleased to be in existence. Happiness is up to the individual.
