Also I realize some of you are curious as to why anyone would do this. The reason I do it is because its a long drive to the parts store. So when I go.....its not for just a 3$ filter. It gets me by till I can get to tractor supply or hardware store. Yes Im cheap but gas is expensive😊
Ultrasonic cleaners will only work on rigid surfaces. It creates a differential frequency between the rigid surface and the attached residual gunk that vibrates it loose through a process called cavitation, After cavitation has begun it creates paths of flow and the sonic irrigation which is microscopic bubbles imploding on the rigid surface and pushing away of the residue. The solution, heat, and any detergents will create a surfactant that will eventually remove the residue from the static non movement of the implement. The right frequency, amplitude, and liquid medium are different for the thang that needs to be ungunked. Your problem was that the paper was probably moving at the same frequency as the goo. Therefore there is no delta vibration... Difference. The paper is to susceptible to the stop/start vibration at maybe 1000 times a second as was the waist. The oil probably even helped to facilitate the failure. That’s why it cleaned your tool.
LOL 🤣 Very good try. Thought the explosion from gasoline would really clean it AND you as well. Bottom line, spend the money and your mower will definitely last a lot longer and actually run. 👍🏻
You must be joking. Once the paper is dirty on the inside of air filter you change it. Once an air filter is subjected to oil or gas, it is over. One of the quickest ways to kill a small engine is a dirty air filter. They retail for cheap.
@@MowerMike fair enough. My paper air filter is $14.99 in Joe Biden’s America. With a wife and 4 kids to feed I’m looking for any shortcut I can find. Thanks for your hard work and great videos.
@@careyhammett9253 I appreciate that. Just knock it against the driveway a few times and get the dirt off. The important part is the thin foam part. Make sure that part is clean and intact and you are good to go.
@@careyhammett9253Right, blame Joe Biden for the price of an airfilter. You think Biden is some kind of dictator who can instruct the retailer which price to put on the filter? I suspect you are as uneducated as most MAGA cultists.
Oh, by the way: in Biden’s America the stock exchange had an all time high record yesterday. Biden’s economy also added a million new industry jobs, and all other indicators are peaking. Even the inflation is going down. PS Bet your community also benefitted from Biden’s Infrastructure act, providing new roads, brigdes and high speed internet all over the US. Or didnt’t you know that? Biden’s Immigration Act is the strictest in living memory. Guess who refuses to do anything with illegal immigration? Mike Johnson and Trump. Hypocrites of the First Order 😂
So...my favorite method for folded paper filters is dawn degreaser soap..soft tooth brush and hair dry
Wow you are serious!

Excellent point
Is this necessary? How much is a new air filter for this mower anyway?
Hmm $3???
@@MowerMike ok, how much did all that gasoline, running the ultrasonic cleaner cost?
Well done Mower Mike
Thank you! That compliment means a lot to me
If you you clean a weeder filter with gasoline and come back bleach will it hurt the filter please let me know
You tell me
The problem was after your gasoline bath you forgot to add fire. That. ALWAYS gets it clean!
I think the problem is I am being an idiot on UA-cam lol

Wow that is the smartest comment I have ever had on a video. Thanks for the description.
LOL 🤣

Yeppers
Try adding pine sol or simple green to ultrasonic cleaner water.
Yep may have helped
For the price of the gasoline, you could have just bought a new air filter
True, but then how would I make my millions$$$ making dumb UA-cam videos???
@@MowerMike They aren't dumb videos, I'm sure someone has thought about doing the things you did. I guess K&N doesn't make reusable lawnmower filters.
For the penny pinchers 😂
Right, I can’t believe people watch this video

Mike most of my channel is jokes.
I blew up my push mower up
That sounds like a good time
@@MowerMike right
WASTE OF TIME.
Hey you clicked on the goofball cleaning a $2 paper filter. Maybe it’s time to put the phone down and go outside.
