Beautiful record of a very special time
Thanks Lesley
What a lovely story and video. The opening music score is beautifully apt. Can you please share the source?
Thanks for your kind comment. Nice to know you liked the opening music track, it's called Lowlands by Jack Pierce who is from the UK.
That was a real treat to watch. I love Akaroa. Thankyou for you for this.
Thanks for letting me know. Good to hear you liked it.
Thank you for your thoughts by way of a lovely poem by the Soviet poet Robert Rozhdestvensky.

Thank for your kind comment 🙂
Hi Greg, that was a fantastic video. I am the step son of Russell Smith, Mike’s business partner and good friend for many years. I remember visiting the Cottage as a child, dining in the new house, touring the cottage, and seeing Mike play a game of pushing against Gilbert’s head as hard as possible (as I recall, Gilbert won). Mike is a very special person to me. Thanks for posting this wonderful slice of the past.
Thanks for your kind comment. Very funny story about Gilbert, had a good laugh!
Are the couple still living there?
Those were the blessed old days.
So true.
Awesome vid, thanks for sharing. Currently OffGrid in the north island
