After 50 years the iconic Raleigh Chopper bike returns to Australia. Raleigh recreated an almost exact replica of the original MK2 Chopper from 1972. The new Chopper was available in 2023 in limited numbers. We purchase a still in the box Chopper in the UK and ship it to Australia. We unbox and assemble it then take it to the city of Sydney to talk to Chopper fans. Special thanks to members of ...

As a complement, read Cassidy by Morris West, a correct and pleasant novel although nothing exceptional. In that novel 80s Sydney is reflected, a happy, colorful and elegant time, back then life seemed to imitate art or people made an effort at it, television, cinema, culture, etc... When I was reading that novel I was looking for a passage that could remind me of a visual document i saw on television in my country about Sydney in the 80s, a young couple of millionaires from Sydney had their boat docked in their backyard, like all the rich mansions, and they went to the opera house by boat dressed in evening clothes, the husband driving it. A similar scene with a millionaire escaping in a boat docked at his house appears in Morris West's novel. I think a similar scene also appears in an episode of the McCloud 70s series filmed in Australia. Australia also had its dark side, not everything was wonder, there was deep political corruption linked to organized crime.

I bet everybody watching this would fondly look back on Australia in the '70s & '80s and say what a bloody great place it was. Australians had pride in the joint, but these days, Australia is a dog's breakfast. The place has gone downhill quickly, with a future only to get worse. Yes, Australia used to be the lucky country, but sadly, today, it's shit.

Sydney was awesome back in the 80's. Spent alot of time in Manly and Balgowlah, going the stein Hotel and seeing great Aussie Bands. Then of course there was Kings Cross, everything is now ruined in my opinion. I remember going to the Bourban and Beef in the Cross. Those were the good old days, Bob Hawke was our Prime Minister.

How’s times have changed for the worse. Every thing the ANZAC fought and died for has been in vain because we now have a racist Satanical Government that is helping Israel commit genocide. Do they know it’s Christmas time feed the world let them know it’s Christmas time. The poor innocent Palestinians being slaughtered by Israel with the help of the western politicians. We need to fear God stop the Genocide and feed the Palestinians to let them know it’s Christmas time again.

I really enjoyed this video, very well presented. As a kid in Victoria in the mid-1970's I remember traveling with my family to my uncles dairy farm, and lying abandoned out in the weather under a giant cypress tree at the side of the property was a gold Chopper bike, my cousins being six or seven years older than me had seemingly grown out of using it. Being a timid kid with no monetary income it didn't even enter my mind that maybe there might be a possibility that they might have been happy to sell it to me if I had of asked.

Awesome video mate, this has bought back a lot of memories visiting this wonderful place when I was younger, a stones throw away from Christchurch. 😍

great era from 70s right up until around 2000... then the internet really took over, then social media, then smart phones... people have all the entertainment they need in their one hand.

I'm 23, based in Lane Cove and it's so trippy seeing how easy everyone is living. I wish more people worked a 4 day week and took it easier but it gives off the vibe that these people are making todays equivalent of $3000 a week. Inflation really has changed things!

I was 3 years old I remember the 80's and the 90's was ok but John Howard fucked things up and it's been a slow decline
