  • Day 1 of Stay In and Make/Do - Make a face-touching early warning system using a BBC Micro:bit! 🚫🤦
    #StayHome 🏠😷 #WithMe #Electronics
    During the current crisis, official advice is to try and avoid touching your face 🚫🤦, so follow along with this tutorial to make a super-simple, gesture-controlled solution that will warn you when your hand ventures dangerously in a face-wards direction, by showing a little frowny face.
    Stay in and Make/Do is my series of daily projects to keep you entertained while you're staying at home. They're mainly electronics projects using the BBC Micro:bit (an affordable and easy to obtain little micro controller you can program in a really simple way), and these projects are suitable for all ages and ability levels - whether or not you've ever written code before or programmed anything!

    Love this project, your sense of humour & humility. So British! You should be "Mrs Maker" on TV!

    I just want to say I'm disappointed this does not involve rare-Earth magnets and astrophysics. No but seriously, really cool series!

      HA. I can honestly say I have never lost a magnet in any of my bodily orifices!

    I discovered this project post just in time! My students are working on designing a micro:bit (v1) product that will help crack COVID time and this is just what they need for some inspiration. Thanks, Hannah!

    Great explanation Hannah but it would be easier if you could edit your video with clear view of codes from your laptop screen... i’m totally newbie to micro:bit..anyway nice and fun tutorial..

      That's a really good point! I've got some links in the description box that will take you to the simple and more advanced version of the code if you want a closer look - and in my later videos I worked out how to use screen capture software ;)

    • @HannahMakes
      @HannahMakes  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! You could add one of the music blocks into the code right by the show icon block 👍

      I started using screen recording in my other videos so they should be easier to see :) If you need the code for this project, you can find some links to it in the description box. Simple version: makecode.microbit.org/55185-26188-04062-14635
