Just watched Rebel Ridge. Absolutely well done. Well acted, intriguing from get go, and I love that there was no forced romance. Also that he kicked ass without killing anybody, thats when you know you're The Guy.
AnnaSophia has always been sooo cool to me, I grew up with Bridge to Terebithia and it was the stuff of legend the way that movie tore our hearts up! 🥹 love that she was inspired by the iconic Charlie's Angels and she would play an amazing younger sister to Cameron Diaz!!
I think he would be a better John Stewart/Green Lantern. DC been way better than Marvel. Plus Damson Idris fits Black Panther more, he can play T’Challa’s son

Don Johnson picking The Revenant instead of those old movies from 60s- 80s like most of actors at his age is so refreshing. He's not ashamed or afraid to acknowledge movies that made after 2000s are good too
With two leads I’ve honestly never seen before, they were amazing and magnetic, its pretty cool seeing AnnaSophia bounce back from child actor in a big way, im sure she’s been in projects for a while but she was absolutely amazing here, a great range, hope to see more of her in bigger projects. And Aaron Pierre is just absolute perfection, not just action hero, but engaging protagonist with layers to him.
Jeremy Saulnier has made films that make me go “this is like it was made for me” but to see his first pick is also one of my favourite films is just perfect
Apparently Aaron Pierre will do the voice of Mufusa in the new movie who’s coming out in December so the fact lion king is in his favorites must be very cool for him
This movie deserves an oscar. The level of writing, direction, and acting is on an otherworldly level. The best movie I have watched since Boon Joon Ho's Parasite. The level of realism is also something I have never before seen in an action movies. The main character continues to drive a car after the tyres have been shot! This movie is essentially Rambo but a million times better and more realistic. 😱😱😱
Much more importantly he directed Blue Ruin and Green Room, which are both fantastic. And his first little no budget independent movie, Murder Party, is a lot of fun too
@@iansmart4158 - Man, I wanted to love Hold the Dark, but the story didn't do much for me and it was too cryptic to make sense of what was going on or to care. My Charlies Angels is Full Throttle( to me an MCG´s love letter to LA; in my wierd way something to do with Chinatown - if I might get away with it), Medicine for melancholy (loved that music, and Northern California), Paris Texas (I live in Bogotá Colombia and today - as yesterday - because of a Mubi Fest it´s gonna be screenind at the Cinemateca Distrital, though my Wim Wenders ´d be The State of Things), yes In the Mood for Love; sorry to disclose here I´m not that much into apps and stuff having to do with creating accounts, so sometimes I like watching these Four Favorites, but havent joined Letterboxd (my bad, seems cool and that I might be loosing on something cool). In this case, Rebel Ridge brought me to this, just streamed it (me struggling making the switch from Johnson´s great villain to that nice guy, If memory serves me well Dakota´s dad, and getting acquinted to Mr. Saulnier´s work through this movie that "rocked" - apologize typos if any, English not my mother tongue, it being Spanish). Kudows the thesps, talent, Netflix and Letterboxd. ❤ for a moment I got miss Robb confused with Taylor Momsen in Gossip Girl, which I watched back in the day before streaming era (my bad the confusion); beautiful chick that Robb girl, and Aaron Pierre, badass in the this flick, but also charming.
