Synopsis:
After what appears to be just another ordinary day, middle school student Yoshio Kobayashi wakes up in his classroom to make a terrifying discovery: his teacher has been mutilated, and Yoshio happens to be holding the weapon used to commit the crime.
Despite the initial shock of finding himself in this predicament, the curious and detached Yoshio can't help but be secretly thrilled about this attempt to frame him. His put-upon friend Souji Hashiba is turned into a willing accomplice, and together, they are determined to prove Yoshio's innocence. Additionally, Kogorou Akechi, a genius high school detective, has come to the scene of the crime in order investigate the case and when Kogorou meets the young man found guilty, an intense mutual interest sparks between the two of them. Kobayashi wishes to enter Akechi's world of crime solving as his assistant, and Akechi is determined to see if the enthusiastic boy is up to the challenge.
Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace is a surreal mystery and horror anime that contains brutal and bizarre crimes, loosely based on stories written by Ranpo Edogawa, who is famous for his influence on Japanese fiction.

これ初めて見たときは衝撃的でした
日本の刑法が如何に犯罪に都合が良いかが判る（あえてこの字）ある意味神回
こんなことしたって後で自分が辛くなるだけだぞ
アニメラストで髪切られた被告が泣いて猫背の刑事と面会したのが辛かった
This episode was brutal and raw af. This is how you make it feel like to be in thwt person shoes, how raw it is to feel and hear that emotion is fuckin spine chilling.
Ranpo Kitan Game of Laplace is an anime inspired by Edogawa Rampo's work
many people don't know this but this specific episode is called "caterpillar" wich is also the name of one of his very famous works I believe it got banned in Japan.
I first wondered how the episode was related to the original story but than I realized the way he killed/tortured him looks like the Husband in Caterpillar.
Ranpo Kitan Game of Laplace is one of the most hated animes out there but I think people didn't understand that this anime is quite exciting for people who get all of the references, who really enjoy Edogawa Rampo's work
I personally enjoyed this Anime and I request you to not skin me alive and grilling me till I am ash itself for enjoying an anime thank you very much.

His little sister was murdered in a manner that was beyond horrible. And the scum who did it was allowed to walk free before committing the crime. Along with sickos who entomb young girls in cement. This anime really makes people think what justice itself has become. Crazies avoiding what they deserve by making an Insanity Plea? Human rights shouldn't be applied to people like that. At all... Only one out of 2 things should be done. Keep them behind steel bars. Or put them down like rabid dogs. Human rights should never be applied to truly dangerous criminals.

原作は妹の名前から芋虫なんだろうけど
どっちかというとカフカの変身とかはだしのゲンの芋虫になって苦しんでる負傷兵みたいだな
江戸川乱歩の芋虫の負傷兵は性欲もあり前向きに生きて妻を許していた
にしても名前だけで申し訳程度に原作設定一割しかかすってないし
没後50年記念に作った作品だから著作権切れるの待ってたのか？
