Wow! What a stunning performance! I know people who get incredibly anxious about something hanging above them. She would be clinging to her seat if this happened as opposed to the original. I didn’t tell her about the chandelier in Phantom or she wouldn’t have gone. Turned out she loved the show but wasn’t happy that I sat us right below the new chandelier in London! However, having Elphaba fly over the audience like the Wicked Witch we all recognise must have been an incredible moment live in the theatre. Thank god for bootlegs but they don’t give you the full experience. Also, I think that we are all so familiar with the original production that any changes made aren’t going to be received well from diehard fans. If you remember the “new” touring production of Phantom then you get my point. At any rate, what an extraordinary performance. As with all the other comments, this girl needs to be on Broadway or the west End. Excellent!!
This video is the “official last” defying gravity, during the show! The fans sang together in the same way haha My other video is the surprise after the end of the concert, with the whole performance
@@verasrailway0306 Hahaha they let us record the performance only on that last day, and only on that song! Even the security guards were recording this moment. But on other days it was completely forbidden.
@@verasrailway0306I was there and there was no “after the show defying gravity”. A girl uploaded a video and was afraid it could get down, so she lied saying that it was a show bonus. Everybody got their cellphones and recorded. They gave us a paper telling us to use the flashlights of our phones on Defying Gravity, so I guess people just turned a blind eye to the fact that they couldn’t record it and thought they were allowed to. I didn’t see any statement from the production saying so. Anyways, I love bootlegs. Hahaha
Honestly I'm glad musical crowds aren't like this in Broadway. Everyone recording and singing blocks view and the voice of the actual singers. The musical sounds looks great!
This just happened in this last performance. Wicked was really successful in Brazil, creating a legion of fans, which is why the fans sang along in the last performance. Most of the audience at this session had watched before. The cell phones were a surprise for the cast with the flashlights and we sang together to pay tribute to the actress. This is the unique love and energy of the Brazilian audience!
This wasn't during the show, they did a little rerun of Defying Gravity after the ending because this was the last session. When she performed during the play, the lighting was different, and the black-out actually worked, this was just an extra. (and the crew allowed the crowd to sing along with the flashlights).
@@veraelphie0306 ahh, I get you. I was genuinely curious but best leave them to it… But absolutely - this is the first I’ve heard of this girl but get her onto a Broadway stage!

Omg, I'd be pissed if everyone in the broadway theatre started to sing along. They don't do that in america. Like ... obviously I want to hear the music school/conservatory trained performer that I paid 300 dollars for, and NOT the out of tune guy behind me singing as loud as he can with his screechy kids.
this is a performance just for fans, not in the musical, when everybody was allowed to record and sing. don't be so stupid and ignorant at the point someone has to explain what is obvious. And if you don't know Portuguese, just shut up!
This is the final performance, so it has to be SPECIAL, just for the fans. It's not like karaoke. Stop mocking the culture of other countries. The culture of the United States isn't superior to that of others
@jessicadasilvaandrade7983 ive been to many broadway shows and have seen wicked itself various times on broadway...... and no matter how great the lighting is...I can see strings whenever used lol --- Even the monkeys in the "original broadway production" that fly with strings look cheesy but because they aren't a main part of the show it doesnt affect it much...but to make ELPHABA fly on strings DURING DEFYING GRAVITY is a crime --- takes all the magic out of the CLIMAX of the show.
A menina tentando gravar e o celular travando tudo sou eu nesses momentos 😂😂
The best scene ever!!! An upgraded/latest version of the flight!!

Fantástico
did anyone record the defying gravity right before this from the same show? Like, her "official" last?

It looks cool for being different than the original but the strings kill it for me.
