Well here it is, a tutorial on setting up your MultiGroups for MultiCam Editing. If you want to jump straight to the good stuff...
Note: At 6:20, it looks as though if you have blank tracks in your multigroup, it will automatically collapse them. I did not realize this during tutorial. Cheers.

Is there a difference between Groups and MultiGroup? I noticed that when you created a new group at around 4:49, the new group had an icon with what looks like a plus sign to its left. Any clue as to what that plus sign indicates?

Great question, I'm trying to figure out right now. Any ideas as to what the differance between these two are?

Thanks @CueMotion! Is the "Edit Group" option only available on the 2019 version of Avid? I'm using 2018.5 and there's no Edit Group option that I can see...

That's a good question, I'm not really sure. I actually figured out a simpler way to create the groups just recently. When you have your sequence stacked, just right click in your monitor, and click "create group". Miiiiggghhhtt not work in 2018.5. But give it a shot.

CueMotion Wow! I’ll have to try that!

Do you have recommendations for synching those clips once you have placed them on the multigroup timeline? Would you compare waveforms? Or maybe there's an automated function that would adjust the segments into the right spot. Thanks for the brilliant hack!

It all depends on what you're shooting with I guess. If you have timecode, you can "Autosequence" them first. Sometimes that works. Waveform analysis seems to work okay if you're just doing something like an interview, but if you've got multiple camera's roaming around, you're best bet is to try and stick to time-code. But if you're using a bunch of GoPros... Just clapsync when you click record. Thanks for watching!

Thanks, @@Cuemotion! Right now I have 5 cameras (no timecode) on a rhythmic dance. So the waveforms are all just repeating drums. And the cameras turned on and off intermittently. I think I will have to eyeball-sync the clips against each other as I build the multigroup timeline. Thanks again.

Sorry, I couldn't tell you anything about previous or older versions. I'd suggest just subscribing. Thanks for writing.
