@@fossiliferous I wish I had a backlog! I went out today on the holderness for the 1st time since May and I found 2 quite interesting ones (Harpoceras?) + (belemnite phragmacone with probably Eleganticeras) and a double Dac nodule and a small Dac pyrite nodule. and someone asked if I was the Yorkshire fossil hunter lol. I’m excited to get them prepped. Had a good day
Depends on the specimen and how much rock to get through. A small one like this I would just glue (really I should have my superglue on the beach with me)
Some great ammonite finds there lovely job
Thanks!
Awesome finds, you have quite a collection of ammonites.
Thanks 👍
Wow! Amazing haul. You had quite a dac-day didn't you! I bet that bag was a bit heavy too. 😁👍
Yes plenty dacs. Nice to find some grey shales nodules too.
@@fossiliferous yeah! And that Pleuro-nodule could be a reallly nice find. I'd love to see that one prepped out. :D
Semicelatum are my favourite dacs. Can’t wait to see the pleuro
Its added to the prep backlog lol.
@@fossiliferous you’ll never get down that prep backlog if you keep finding so many
@Tony-tt3sc that's the problem lol. Expect to see it in about 12 months

Some lovely finds! Those rough seas are doing their job
They are. I think there will be some good finds this weekend
@fossiliferous I hope so and I'm really hoping I get a couple. Won't be going to port Mulgrave though
@@annetalbot9151 it was very slippy on that rope
@fossiliferous it looked it! Glad you made it down and up OK, especially with all your finds
When you say 'glue and prep' where a bit of the positive is on the negative; do you prep as much as you can before gluing, or glue ASAP?

Nice haul Matt ❤
Thanks
So It appears you do not keep the concave half of the nodule, yes?
I don't tend to keep the negatives unless it's a nice pos neg split. However I do trade them to others that have a use for them
Nice few finds matt, his there any weed washed in or isit all sand
No weed at mulgrave that I could see. Sandy in places, but quite a lot of it has been stripped back to the scar
had a few bits of jet alot of years ago there at port dock
I just don't have my eye in for jet
Can we have a tour of you collection please?
I've got some more stuff to come back from prep which will be a good time to do one. I was thinking of doing a new year round up.
@@fossiliferous Sounds good 👍
