My take on this community favorite Bond No.9 New Haarlem. I give my opinion on one of the most positively talked about fragrances right now. This is said to be breakfast in a bottle, is the hyped warranted? - Навчання та стиль

I see you mentioned how you felt nauseous with A-Men and kinda compared it to that but do you like Angel Man? Me personally I like Angel Men, want to try this but kinda skeptical over Bond 9 after hearing so many mixed reviews and once I used Bleecker Street I wasn't really impressed with that offering in particular but maybe this one is alright. Never would pay retail, might get a decant.

I may have that one coming. I didn't like it at first because I tried it in the summer, one I wore it on the cooler days it really impressed me. I might save that video for the winter..

Smelt B#9 NH for the first time yesterday bro and I must agree with you. Who wants to smell like pancakes and syrup. It smells just like it. It is truly a frag for someone who loves to smell like food. Breakfast for that matter. To each their own tho. Keep doing whatcha doin bro.

I felt the same way at first. I got a sample in July and tried it and hated. Around October I tried it again and ended up buying a bottle. It's a compliment getter for sure in the cooler months. I live in the south so a 1.7 bottle will last me a long time. Keep doing your thing Coach love the channel. PEACE!!!!!

yea bro i notice you are having a tough time enjoying some key winter frags, because the weather doesn't get really cold it just gets cool...lol it sucks because man I think you'd change your aspect on some, You'd still hate A*men (or atleast the opening) but that dry down it tough...amouge's frags last way longer in the winter too...

You're absolutely correct man, women LOVE fresh citrus/aquatic scents. I was fragrance shopping today, and I asked this female clerk to find me something dark because most of my frags are fresh/aquatic. She told me she doesn't like dark frags but recommended me Lavender Palm. So I asked what she likes and she selected Acqua di Gio Essenza, MFK Amyris (which I loved!), and Tom Ford Azure Lime, all "citrus" scents..
Hell Yeah, Rob this review is the shit. The beauty of fragrances is what you like other people might not like or vice versa.

You are on point at the end of this review. I order a decant of new haarlem and it smells like straight syrup. I have yet to test it on my skin cause to me, it is to strong. Its been sitting in my medcine cabinet for the past 3 weeks. I cant figure a day to try it. And for 180? I rather pour some aunt jemima all over my body and walk out the door. Good review.

Almost like a roasted caramel with brown sugar. It's one of the best winter (40 and below) frags IMO. But i can respect your view bro.

Good review. I totally agree with you on this. I have sampled all three and New Harlem is just not worth the price.
Love the "believe the hype" vids. Going against the grain isn't an easy thing to do but I'll take that any day as long as it's an honest opinion. I feel like sometimes reviewers get sucked into the hype and go into a review with preconceived notions. And that ultimately leads to a biased review, and we don't need that. Major props to Coach Rob for putting out information that we can really use!
At first I didn't like it. Then it grew on me and I like it now buuuuuut I can't see me wearing it for some reason like you said. It just started getting cool in ATL so I'll try it out somewhere soon I guess lol.

Agreed ! I'm a huge gourmand fan and it's not for me. I'm not a fan of smelling like Cinnabun that's what I get a sugary frosting cinnamon pastry.

It's a hard frag to wear indeed. But after a few hours its works very nice on me. It starts off green a bit, then its does feel like a*men but better. Respect your review man...its Gangsta!

Try blending Harrods Amber with New Haarlem, thats going to offset the gourmand notes in New Haarlem. Its going to make it way more sophisticated.

Its funny I never really got gasoline from fahrenheit back in the day. I do now do a little every since I head that comparison. I do like that smell of gasoline though so maybe that's why I like it. If you want to smell gasoline try Andy Tauers Orange Star, now that's gasoline, I dont like that one.
Coach: It's time. We need more 'Believe the Hype' videos. What fragrances out there get a lot of love that you either agree with or not.

Wall Street is an absolute test first. It has a seaweed/ocean/metallic/fish smell in the dry down that a LOT of people detest. The opening is awesome, though.
You know it doesn't get 40 below in my part of town, so this is a NO for me lol Lupe said the same thing, 35 and below for him. This in my warm/hot climate is not the business!

You feel about New Haarlem like I feel about Fahrenheit. Why would anyone get out the shower and spray something that smells like motor oil and gasoline on them. I just don't get it. Everyone is different. If I would have smelled Fahreheit first before I smelled Fahrenheit Absolute, I would have never bought the Absolute. I really love the Absolute though. I have New Haarlem and really like it. Try wearing it when you are hungry and have a taste for pancakes. You might like it a little better.
Legend is more tolerable to me, what can I say? I definitely give the quality & longevity to NH like I said in the video but I can't see myself dropping that money for syrup..
I don't really care for Bond No 9 (even though I do like New Haarlem). But, what's wrong with their owner? I know she used to work for Creed. And that resulted in coping a few of their fragrances. But, that's about all I know.

Yea try it out for yourself man. I recently seen my favorite Bonds on ebay from $85-$140, I love NY for him, I love NY for Fathers, Wall Street, and Bleecker St. Those are all bottle worthy IMO.

I've smelled a number of Bond No. 9 fragrances. Some of them are awesome. Some of them are okay. I can't say any of them smell "bad". But I can tell you this: NONE of them smell like they're worth the money they charge for those bottles. (My favorite is Chinatown. It's billed as a women's fragrance but anybody can wear it).
I agree with you that New Haarlem smells like crap. I hate that stuff.
I disagree with you when you say it's not similar to Rochas Man. I think they smell very similar, but I find that the Rochas Man is actually tolerable for me to wear. Anyway, I hate Rochas Man as well. Ladies love Rochas Man on my skin though.

Just got my bottle from Fragrancenet yesterday, tried it out and it smelled just like pancake syrup. Yummy indeed, but like A*Men, no compliments. Actually, some of my coworkers didn't like A*Men. Most women like 'citrus' smells.
