John Deacon, the bassist, was the quite one. He has a degree in electrical engineering and created the Deacy Amp that Brian used to create some memorable guitar sounds. He wrote some great hits, Another One Bites the Dust, I Want to Break Free, Your My Best Friend, One Year of Love (for The Highlander movie), Cool Cat and many others including the bass riff for Under Pressure.

This is two songs - they go into The Seven Seas of Rhye! It's kind of a medley to honor their old 70s hits. And you're right, Freddie was the most talented person ever. He was also an incredible artist and designer; he majored in graphic design in university and drew Queen's logo (the one you see at the start to their official videos). The animals in the logo represent the zodiac signs of the band members. He did some amazing portraits of artists he admired when he was younger, too, including Jimmie Hendrix. You can Google his artwork! And oh yeah, he did an entire opera album with Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe. Just because he adored opera and wanted to challenge himself and see if he could add some rock and gospel influences. He idolized Caballe and was so nervous to meet her, but they loved one another from the start. Check out "Barcelona", "The Golden Boy", and "How Can I Go On" to see entirely different sides to Freddie's voice! He was too sick then to actually perform live (though he still looked healthy), but the videos were filmed as if they were live performances.

Despite of his Indian and Persian roots he was very British many ways, he loved to drink beer, tea with milk, singing Christmas carols around the piano, he was a fan of the royal family, etc.

Gotta remember Freddie dresses to be seen (literally)- especially in arenas. You'll see white, yellow, red... In their early Glam Rock Days (long hair), it was black & white for all the band plus check out the nail polish. Yep, that yellow jacket was fire for many.

I always note that each member has their own style.. Freddie is flamboyant.. loves white satin, black leather, close-fitting.. Brian favors more "romantic" styles with flowing sleeves, etc... black jeans, sneakers.. or oddly, clogs(?)... Roger is striped t-shirts, cool jackets.. and.. John Deacon is, like, "ima rock this pastel sweater vest"..

Actually, Fred is not English he was born in Zanzibar and is of Persian decent. His parents lived in India until his father got a job in Zanzibar. Freddie spent his years from 8 - 17 in India in an English run private boys boarding school. His parents sent him there because there was no opportunity for him in Zanzibar. When Freddie was 17 Freddie moved briefly back to Zanzibar to join his family as they fled to England to avoid the war that was going on in Zanzibar. Freddie went to college in London and kept England as his main residence for the rest of his life, spending some time in New York in an apartment he kept there and in Switzerland where he had a little house on Lake Geneva. The guy on the bass is the infamous John Deacon. He wrote several hits for Queen and has an advanced degree in Electronics. He built the Deacy Amp which Brian uses to this day to create the sounds of horns, strings and different distortions with his own homemade guitar.

This is in the Lap of the Gods Revisited….you need to react to “In the Lap of the Gods” live from the Rainbow 1974! Two different songs with nearly the same name…both great 💥

Lynn Hoffman ( below) requested “In the Lap of the Gods” live from the Rainbow 1974! - I join with her to urge you to listen to it. There's something surprising and unique in it courtesy of Roger.

You're so likeable. Watch this song live at the Odeon-Hammersmith (they don't include the word "revisited" but it's the same song, a really great version from the 70s with long -haired , skinny Freddie belting it out)...also watch carefully the funny, silly sexual part at the end ...don't mix it up with another good song called in the Lap of the Gods that others are requesting as well

Another great reaction, check out Love of My Life in Rio, the crowd there is about 3 times as big and English is not their first language.
