That didn't help them either, so we even added the color scheme (made the red more pinkish though), so they could just copy and paste it.

There’s extremely little room for critical thinking and truth on there, and I am all about living in truth and thinking for yourself. On most reddit forums, anything that goes against the general consensus in it is either banned, removed, downvoted or met with a lot of hate, undermining and arguing. So you are essentially not allowed to have your own opinion and experiences. If you want to get something like upvotes, it needs to be in alignment with the hivemind, otherwise you’re wrong and an evil human being undeserving of anything. That’s the basic mentality on there. Reddit is largely a culture of ignorance and stupidity.
I feel sorry for many people. Approximately 110 thousand people from Turkey created various changes in an area of approximately 3'1 of the map with flags in 2 different places, 1 Atatürk portrait, 1 Turkish coffee, "enough" text, void's black sense of humor, yellow colors and especially the phrase "dont". It was a great experience.
As an anthropology nut, this is actually an incredibly valuable piece of work. There is so much revealed about human nature here. An entire book could be written about this.

I see r/place as an accurate description of the world- our world. We have millions on communities making small or large living within and together it forms a large one. The little plagues that try to destroy bits of it is like the ones who try to destroy everything, but the community members work together to rebuild or revamp their place. But even just like our world, it can turn into war
one of my favourite things about this is the moments when something dark, or bad or wrong goes to exist and then justs overtaken by colour and joy. gives me alot of hope for humanity
I must say, the Purple Lightning is a sight to behold. Never static, never finding a home, but appearing in a sudden flash and disappearing just as quickly.

One of my unforgettable memories has been r/place 2022. Country flags and special motifs, pictures with clear images despite the use of pixels, Among us that appears everywhere, the scary void... it was really fun to be in this event :>
I had a great time participating in this! I decided to support my uni’s spot in place and it was cool to make alliances with the countries/folks/fandoms/unis around us in order to secure our place and even try to talk to rival unis who weren’t located anywhere near us haha. I got weirdly invested, but it was all in good fun. This happened during a strange ‘dead’ time for me (aka mid deep pandemic) so it made me feel connected to something fun and big for at least a little while. I laughed and argued and strategized with randos on the internet, and I had a blast.
Good fact: in 2:41 we are seeing there's a hand in void. It was Porçay's idea (he is a Turkish UA-camr. His flag is in top, next to the Ataturk portrait. Black one.) Porçay inspired that idea Cave of Hands. The cave is found in Spain. Some people in that age, sprayed colors to their hands and leave a lot of hand prints to the cave walls 13.500 year ago. it means like "we are exist. Don't forget us." So Porçay wants to show, void could be become bigger, even it could be cover everything, but humanity still here.
You know you've made an impact on humanity when they go out of their way to represent you on something like this. It is culture in motion on a virtual landscape, a battlefield of pixels fighting to gain ground and hold their lines. I want to make something that will inspire people to represent it on this place in the future. I want to contribute to this culture in my own way, with something positive and encouraging.

I think it was really fun to see how quickly people worked together. And not just on projects they had a stake in (like Germans working on the German flag) but also repairing nearby art that they had come to an agreement with. Once, a lot of random Germans started attacking the r/superstronk art and the placede Discord was pretty much helpless to stop it and instead helped to rebuild it afterwards.

One of the greatest moments in internet history. Everyone was teaming up and working together to make a big art. And the map shows what the internet has become. The culture, the people.... truly a fantastic project.
This is so trippy, yet one of the most amazing things I have seen in a while. Everyone participating had a different reason to do so; different background and life experience; different voice they wanted to share. Yet all together combined it still turned out to be beautiful

I feel like r/place is representative of the true fountain of creativity. Every idea ever generated by every person who went onto r/place, compiled into one single chaotic, beautiful work of art.
No one will read this however the void really tells an incredible story of a fight between light and dark. darkness is shrouding the area until a glowing pure white hand reaches from the darkness and commands it to stop, then... everything immediately turns white. love it, such a historical time in internet history.

The French where not targeting it anymore because they knew the spanish used automatic scripts to redraw it over and over and there was no point in fighting it as it was stacking tiles on top of each others and would not expand. They were focused on rebuilding the art first. The BTS logo is the very first thing to disappear because the spanish bots kept working without realizing the color changed...
The French on the other hand realized it was the end of the event and quickly adapted to start writing FRA... in white in the middle of the fresco. Proving without a doubt that a very strong community was mobilized behind the French streamers who got the idea.
Thanks for pointing it out.

Finally the official time lapse! The 1st canvas size change was missing on ALL the other videos.
true
I saw multiple timelapses that included the first expansion.
Yeah that was because no one expected the canvas to expand and all the programs that were recording the event broke because of the changed format
