I haven't watched s2 or read the manga, but from what I've heard the arc after they escaped was god tier, one of the best arcs in the manga, and the show _skipped it_
Far whatever reason they rushed the whole story into the last 5 minutes into the anime. The could of killed it for another 5 years and made bank but no.
Goodnight world should've stayed to the original theme and it would have been more interesting to see our main character dealing with psychological issues instead of whatever the hell was happening

Season 1 i liked the tale of a hero going rogue and being a hero his way... season 2 was meh then season 3 hits and everything happens way to coincidently no thinking is involved the person or thing from the last episodenis the key to that one problem.
Manga reader here: I really do think the first season was the best part but the Manga still continues being good to amazing altho it falls off a Lil at the end imo
sadly seven deadly sins, its still one of my favorite mangas of all time and i do still really like the anime its just sad that the new animators did such a crap job thankfully though the new anime is good
i swear to god i was so freaking intrested in the first season i was practicly hooked but then season 2 after finishing the season i dont ever want to egnolage the season 2 i would just love to re watch the first season and not mention season 2 :)
It goes downhill after episode 15 and the ending is rushed and unsatisfactory. Aparently the way to enjoy the show is to watch till episode 15 then read the manga, which had a better paced/satisfying ending.
I hated how they tried to cram like 20 books into 1 season, the show could have easily been amazing if they took the time to spread out the plot instead of jamming it into season 2… 🫠 I know anime takes forever to make and a lot of budget which I can assume why season 2 ended the way it did- 🥲
