Aww this made me want to reread the manga. This was really memorable to me because it was the first manga I read where the fmc chose the second male lead in the end. I shipped them so much while bracing myself for heartbreak so I can't forget how much I celebrated that time ;-;

I read this manga when chapters were still being released weekly, so years ago at this point. But these two still remain my favorite manga pairing of all time and I’m still so sad it never got an anime... but some stories are better left as a manga anyways.

I think the reason I loved this manga so much was because the female actually ended up with the second male lead, who I was rooting for the entire to time. most shoujo manga bait you into liking the second male lead more than the main one, but the female always chooses the first guy. Which is sooo frustrating because of how amazing the other guy is, yet the girl is so blinded by naive love that she won’t look at anyone else even if she’s being treated like garbage. This was the FIRST shoujo manga I’ve ever read where the female lead got the opportunity to go back to the main male lead and chose the second one over him. The second to last chapter was sooo painful to read lol because I had to wait a week for an update and the mangaka made it seem like she was going to end up with Shishio. Luckily that wasn’t the case though and finally a second male lead finally won over the girl 😭

this manga had my emotions go wild and crazy, i always love the male leads yet i end up crying my heart out for the 2nd mls. so when i finished it and knew that she ends up with the 2nd ml my heart just skipped a beat.
