- I'm in LIDL in today's food shopping vlog. It is time I started buying some Christmas food! I am so behind with all that. I seem to have come at the right time again as it's reduced-to-clear heaven yet again on loads of food items that I love :)

Imo..40pence for double cream..bargain..I would snap it all up and make butter from it..the jar method..that way there's buttermilk as a by product..to use in soups/baking..also double cream is freezeable if whipped first before freezing..just portion up first..👍x
Freezing it in an ice cube tray without whipping works well for using in things like sauces too
I was going to say the same about freezing milk. The more fat in it the better. It does tend to be a bit watery so give it a good shake after it's defrosted.

Good point! I haven’t drunk cow’s milk for years, I totally forgot that the ice from the freezer thins it out a little

I freeze cheese. I’m a poet and didn’t know it. 😂 I buy bags of grated cheese and pop it in the freezer for cooking. It lasts ages. The family eat the block really fast so I need to hide the grated stuff for cooking. X

Mmmmm.. rhubarb crumble is so good. Great price for everything you got!. One thing I'd love to see, is, how you pack your little trolley with all those items. I can imagine it's like playing Tetris.

Hi Imo just an FYI the crumble has gluten/ wheat cos of the flour, any thing with pastry is gluten unless specificall states gluten free. Also sauces like curry ect has gluten

I’m gonna give another freezer tip.. You can freeze your cow’s milk. The only thing to remember with that is milk will expand when frozen, so just be sure to leave about an inch of space inside the bottle or container you’re freezing it in
I’m now craving rhubarb crumble and we don’t have a local Lidl 😭

Really? Are you US-based? I always figured it was only less of a thing there because American chocolate is so bad
@@mariannetuite7411 Yes I am an American. And you are probably correct that our chocolate is not as good. It seems to be a Christmas tradition in the UK to eat sweets every day during the holiday. Last year Imo had a shelf full of candy for Christmas. Cheers

Funny story about stollen - over here in the States Donald Trump continues to write almost daily about how the 2020 was stolen from him. However he continuously misspells the word as "stollen" leaving the door wide open to hilarious comments and memes about pastries. This has been going on for months and he still hasn't self corrected. 😂😂
