The last thing Newcastle United need right now in their fight against relegation is bad press but that's exactly what's happened.
After Steve Bruce threw some of the players under the bus after their last game against Wigan, Matt Ritchie has blown a fuse and has had a bust up with Steve Bruce.
Regardless of any apologies, this puts Newcastle United in an awful situation with team spirit right when they need it the most. At a time when the dressing room needs to be unified it is very much apart at Newcastle United and this all comes down to Steve Bruce!

Got to take it with a pinch of salt, the Richie bust up bit is true. The ‘players hate him and want Graeme Jones in charge’ bit sounds like such bs. The fact Ritchie already apologised yesterday kind of tells you how meaningless this is. Will fizzle out by next week

Yes its been simmering for months. But im pleased Richie didnt retaliate back so at the moment Bruce is in the wrong. We cant have anymore of him. Ashley needs to take action now .just think we dont need Bruce . get rid now .things might pick up when he,d gone .
Two wins in 17 and Bruce is slowly turning on senior players what a great way to gee them all up in the race to avoid the drop for the 3rd time under this current regime. Surley Bruce is on barrowed time now. But this is a Ashley ran Newcastle and we all know how the club is ran. #BRUCEOUT

@@TheToonReview I used to like and had some respect for Steve Bruce. This has now been diminished, his post match interviews are the reason for this. I never regarded him as a good coach and the clubs position in the league is testimony to this. However, I separated Steve Bruce the man from Steve Bruce the coach. I can't do this anymore. Humiliating the players to take the heat off himself is not good practice. Matt Ritchie, a decent, passionate player, was the first to flip the lid. More players might follow because the club is in the doldrums and sinking faster than a stone. The reason, An owner who doesn't care and a coach who hasn't a clue what he's doing. What a disaster!
Lee Charnley has already been to the training ground today to speak to the players and shock... Bruce still hasn’t got the sack which leads me to believe he’s told the players to wind their necks in
Which is even worse because that will just get their backs up and they won’t want to perform for Bruce!

Bruceless is so out of his depth but not man enough to admit it n walk. As for Charnley/ Ashley/ barnes , u couldn't ask for any worse people in control of a football club. I fear the worst, and sadly can't see a quick return if we go down this time

Bruce needs sacked before Sunday, he should have went after Sheffield utd match. You can see for weeks he was cracking under the pressure and it's resulted in this amongst other things he has done/said.
I dont blame ritchie one bit and he could have easily have shown worse behaviour to how he has dealt with dealt with it. And yet there's been no apology from Bruce for his involvement and he was the one who was trying to instigate a physical confrontation and caused it all.
Bruce will never apologise simply because he thinks he’s never in the wrong because he’s so damn arrogant.

A manager should defend his players when talking to the press regardless of his opinion fair cop have a word in the changing room but this Bruce bloke is a cancer at your club. If you get rid now you could survive I cant see players playing for him again hes too quick to clean his hands of fault and the players won't take being thrown under the bus after every game he needs to go and go NOW. if this happened at any other club Bruce you have been sacked, if it's true.he shoulder charged Richie then it's a sackable offence, but this is nufc nothing will be done simple as that, hate Bruce with a passion. can't see Richie getting much game time from now till end of season.
Bruce should be gone but arsely still has his head in the sand, like the proverbial ostrich! Steve Bruce lost the plot a long time ago and now it seems like he is doing anything he possibly can to be sacked. The club should just sack him on the basis of misconduct and that way Bruce does not get a penny.
