I’m glad you mentioned root regrowth. I’m 67 and back in my day(the 1970’s) we w/h been ashamed of dark roots. It would sort of mean we weren’t keeping up our look and got sloppy. I have never bought a rooted wig.
Being a natural blonde, not a fan of hair dye in the first place, it's been a tough row to hoe, so to speak. We do exist and the industry pays little attention to our needs/wants so I felt forced to buy rooted blondes but never really felt comfortable in them. Dark root regrowth was frowned upon in our day. We are exactly the same age so you know!

I'll miss all of you as well, but I will leave up the channel itself so the education can continue. I have life situations that need my attention and two active channels are too much at this point in time, aside from all the other issues I addressed. Thank you for the support! I do love this color especially on the new heat defiant fibers, it's so lovely, a non rooted blonde that isn't so silvery that it veers gray.

LOVE your honesty, and totally agree with what you’re saying. There may be some “snarky” responses….but I am sure that the majority agrees with you. Wig prices ARE getting increasingly high, and quality is going down the toilet. Thank you for all your great reviews, and good luck in the future.

Oh nonono! You have helped us a great deal by giving us your honest reviews. I've been wearing wigs a lot longer than you, yet I've learned more about the wigs you've reviewed than from any commercial reviewer. I'm so sad....I don't know who could fill your void. You and I have the same color and style preferences. I'm one who truly will miss your honest reviews, and I always think of you when I wear Kona and perhaps now Brighton too. I would say, please don't go, but I understand your point.

Yes, there are some of us other reviewers that understand hair loss and we come from it with that perspective. Others wear them as a fashion accessory have a different perspective. We are very similar as far as the why and how we review wigs. This is a beautiful wig and you make it light up! Sadly, the color choices for a brunette wanting to go lighter is limited. I guess I could just give up and go blonde altogether. I don’t want to feed the wig addiction out there some seem to have. I’m not quite where you are in finding the perfect wig in a great color. Hopefully, that will be soon and I’ll give up the reviews too! People just don’t realize how much time and money goes into doing this.
I’m one of those people that wear a wig every day. I think you should be able to easily return wigs like clothes. Wigs have skyrocketed in price, and that makes it difficult for me since I wear them daily, and they wear out.

Thank you I’ve just recently found your site on UA-cam. Found it to be very helpful. I’m the same age as you and have similar taste in hair. Also, totally get the frugal part.
Summer time I wear scarves to cover my missing hair because it’s cooler and the wig I have lasts longer. Winter crochet beanies. Going out to the store or visiting would be hair days.

Thank you, DeeAnn, I'm glad you found it helpful to you, which was always my goal, not to be some UA-cam star or wig guru, but just a frugal woman with hair loss trying to get my mojo back and wanting to share what I've learned along the way. I do the same because we have a mountain homestead and I rarely leave my property, no need to "wig up" for the chickens or my blind cat. I wear makeup almost every day even in a baseball cap because I do have a husband I'd rather not seem me as just a farm hand, LOL. You have a great weekend as well. God bless!

You have always been my favorite. You and Denise, without a doubt, are 2 of the very, very few honest reviewers out there. Thankfully I am not a newbie and I can not be fooled by fakes. You have helped so many, so much. It is hard to repay the knowledge you have passed on. Disenchanted is a perfect word for this industry. The absolute worst root is black on a gray wig. Never in my many years have I seen anything like that in reality, lol. Forever grateful and thankful for you. I really appreciate *you*, Margaret! We have been on this wig journey for quite some time now. Yes, the internet is harsh, but if I really felt I wanted to continue, that would not stop me, not the main reason. I had a stalker on my main channel for months who came over to this one, made bodily threats, attempted to post my address that he/she somehow found and I had to escalate to law enforcement, in case the stalker was not all bluster. I continued to post and ended up just ignoring the jerk and he/she backed off eventually. Living well is the best revenge as they say and you can't give someone the narcissitic supply they crave. What I said here was just a description of what it can be like to have a channel of any kind, especially one with an emotional component like hair loss.
Like so many other viewers have stated, I will miss your Channel. No one else has the honesty and integrity to address the flaws of the wig industry. Maybe because they're being paid to fluff over the discrepancies. Again I'm disappointed to see you leaving leaving

Well I love your channel and honesty. I do not like drama either and boy, there was a lot when I reviewed for someone else. Even then the majority of my reviews were from wigs I personally bought myself. I make no money either and not interested in that. I am just wanting to help. As a woman with hair loss, I want other women to know they are not alone. I have done several wig education videos and plan to do more. I have been at this a year now, and boy what a year it has been. Thankfully, I am NOT WITH a specific retailer. Good luck hope to see you around.

Dee, keep in mind that any retailer can take a misstep in customer service as well as any wig can have a defect. I have purchased from probably seven or eight wig companies, not all of them, of course. I have encountered some workmanship that could have been better and two outright defects. We are dealing with the manufacturer/brand itself as well as the retailer as the middle man. I believe the test of a retailer or a brand is what they do when you present a defect with photographic evidence. The first time it happened, easy return, but later, it was apparent that this retailer was mentally disturbed, hurt a lot of people, including going after me when I refused to support her business any longer. Would never recommend that one or even mention the name (which has been changed to avoid defrauded customers). That situation was truly bizarre and unusual. The retailer I've mentioned who argued with me when I tried to point out their error to save them returns (wrong stock photo) was one I had a longstanding relationship with, but have not purchased from since, Name Brand Wigs. There were never issues other than that, but it left a sour taste. I've often purchased from Wig Studio 1 clearance (just clearance, prices are decent there), but they were the one who recently refused to admit that the Tony of Beverly Starly wigs were not up to snuff, showing wefts and missing hair in many of them. Myself and The Indecisive Wig Wearer, Rachel, were the only reviewers I know of who pointed it out as an issue. I still would buy from that retailer because I truly believe the brand is the problem there, not as much the retailer. I have never attempted a return with them. Lately, I've purchased most of my wigs from Shirley's Wig Shoppe-has a livestream several nights each week pn Facebook, but the main sale is on Wednesday. The Belle Tress owner herself denied a glaring defect in my Belle Tress Lemonade I purchased through Shirley, simply lied to me about it, tried to gaslight me. In that case, the retailer, Shirley, made it right though she has a no return policy in general. She didn't even charge me return shipping. That said, she is human and can make mistakes, not that I have ever had an issue with her. I believe that the manufacturers are pressuring retailers to deny defects, just a hunch. Hope this helps. Love the sweater, that color is incredible. I can't tell if it's a blue grey or a green or something, it's so pretty with your eyes and skin tone! As far as the drama. Whew. I agree with you so much on this unfortunately. I have found and had the pleasure to interact with some of the most wonderful and generous and kind people in this community, but dang there are a few who are not that. At all. And those few sure do seem to work hard to spoil things. Psychologically I'm sure there is a reason. But in the long run it's not a generative contribution and I don't understand why folks would persist in behaving that way. Lastly, I sincerely hope you stick around. I appreciate and value your honesty and I'm sure there are many others who feel the same but might be too shy to comment.
Thank you, Michelle! The sweater is a grayish-green. I have it in a dusky blue and a camel color as well. I got it at Walmart online and really love it. It's super soft and very lightweight. I have met the most wonderful women since I began wearing wigs, some that truly need some serious help, let's just say, and some that are just plain mean-spirited. I know that I have lurkers and that's okay. I used to be so shy myself. If they got something from the channel, that's what matters.
How does this compare to Raquel Welch Editor's Pick? Is it shorter? I love Editor's Pick, but the Raquel Welch heat friendly fibers don't last long for daily wearers and it is expensive.
It is about an inch and a half shorter. EP has a full mono top while this is a mono part only, both with lace fronts. The styles are a bit similar, though. Hope this helps!

It's actually from Estetica and the color is RH1488. It's a great color if you want a non-rooted blonde.
