IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see .. in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them.. im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes. It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AAAAAAAAH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😭😭😫

I think v is deaf and blind in one eye that's why iu is guiding him throughout the MV. She's also the one who always reacts first when the cube is near. Look when I iu is tapping v before dragging him inside? Also the defects getting killed is a bit of a stretch because if they really the target of the cubes then the outside world should not be in ruins so i think this is an alien apocalypse.

The director said that the cube represents the discrimination people face by society 😢the cube hunts down these people who are considered "faulty" in this society and annihilates them. Here IU is deaf and Taehyung is blind and they love each other, but society won’t let them be happy by discriminating against them.Perhaps the message behind this video is the discrimination people feel and experience. It was so beautiful that they stayed together and comforted each other till the very end. IU was tapping in sign language "I love you" to Tae (on his shoulder) and hiding his good eye so he doesn't have to be face to face with it 🥺

I knew this mv was going to be excellent, but I didn't expect it to move we all like this. The tenderness (almost innocence?) between them was so disarming. And then the hopelessness of it all... I was so immersed that I could feel their fear and despair.. V and IU's acting and chemistry are so excellent. I loved the fact that Taehyung was not the stereotypical fearless male lead. That man was terrified (he acted it so well!!) and that made everything, including his moment of bravery, feel even more real.
The mv is a reminder of all the discrimination and hatred in the world.
Anything that doesn't conform to the norm for society faces eradication.
Love wins all. We need to give love the opportunity to take root.

I rushed home after work and finally saw the MV and listened to the song. I am overwhelmed by a myriad of emotions. I'll just say...wow...stospheric both...wow...
The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel unsecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dysopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of comfort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. The storyline is like this
"IU’s character is deaf and taehyung’s one eye is blind. That’s why she uses sign language when they’re eating and she covered taehyung’s left eye at the end to protect it. One theory I read, the couple represents aging people who are close to death and the cube represents the inevitable death. They were reminiscing their youth through the cam recorder which is all cheerful, bright and colorful. However, the reality is not as beautiful, when it’s time for you to go, you have to go. They spent their time together loving each other until their last breath."
I think the cube represents the societal judgements ( slotting people / relationships in boxes) ..destroying people/ relationships that are different from the norm...thats why both are mute...their voices are gone...V got injured by the cube making him go blind in one eye suggesting the constant hate injures people deeply they lose the tolerance to see more violence...pile of clothes mean the victims who are dead..looking through the camcorder they see their own POV of their lover...fantasy and dream..a moment of happiness grabbed because they knew they are not gonna escape..but because there is such strenght in their love to face that cube..to walk hand in hand in dire circumstances...the ability to make each other smile..to stand before each other to protect...side by side and face death together..so even when they are gone the cube couldnt destroy their love for each other. love wins all.
