You’re one of the most mature and patient horse people I know! I’m happy you could vent and feel a bit better talking to the camera. Just know you’re not talking to yourself! We are listening and we are wishing you the best 🥰
You are not alone. We all have experienced down times in our lives. I’m glad you share with us. It has got to be overwhelming being self-employed, and the worries that come with that. I admire you and all you do each and everyday. I think it’s a good idea for you to take a daily multivitamin for women. Possibly have your blood drawn for thyroid and iron and calcium levels. You juggle a lot and have a lot of responsibility. Take good care of yourself. I love your videos and your attitude.
Hello there from the United States! I'm happy to hear that sharing your situation with us helps you out!! I was in a dark place of depression last year and things didn't start to get better until I told someone what was going on... It really does help! And I appreciate you sharing your feeding program. It was very informational and will help me with my animal feed sales internship this summer(:
wow the ffirst 3 minutes of this video described the last 3 years of my life perfectly. i thought i was just lazy or had zero motivation but there were things i knew i wanted to do. i just felt always tired. i tried masking that with energy drinks and coffee and stimulants but that never seemed to help me wake up in the morning and i never felt "refreshed". i still struggle daily with this and it is easy to slip into that cloud of darkness. i wish i was a morning person, but i feel as though i am - and i just am never well rested enough to full get up in the morning. i think going to bed well before you need to certainly helps but when you take care of a yard of horses it can be impossible sometimes to go home at all because youre laying in bed thinking of all the things ill need to do again in the morning. i dont know how we can fix this in the training world. i find the less "routine" items the trainer needs to do the more they can focus on the actual training bit. like if you could cut feeding, turning horses out, and cleaning stalls etc out of your daily deeds you might have an easier time facing each morning. you have to look forward to your day and its hard to look forward to the training when its speckled with medial chores all throughout the day like a chocolate chip cake with poop instead of chocolate.
I have felt the same. I found when I took some things off my plate and made myself get a good amount of sleep each night, and half an hour in the morning to myself, it really, really helped.
Love the hart to hart at the start... well needed when uni work is just piling up, it really is a slippery slope, and to talk about it is important to progressing and pushing on! x
What you said about waking up feeling overwhelmed hits the nail on the head! It’s so nice to see you share that because you come across as such a positive person (i often watch your videos to get motivated) i never would have thought you would feel like that! It’s not just when you’re self employed though. I juggle shift work (flexible) at hospital with grooming part time and eventing my own and feel exactly the same in the morning! Admittedly i pack far too much into the diary but think feeling like that is completely normal 🙌🏻
Marta_Eventing yes a busy diary can often be the culprite. Sounds like you have a lot on too, but well done for managing to fit a horse into that busy schedule! I’m sure it’s rewarding when you achieve your goals 🥰
I am glad you feel like you can talk to your followers because everybody suffers with mental health problems of some description if not now at some point in there life and all people need to talk about and it also to watch zora and mos education progress and I look forward to more of you and the horses and thank you for being such a honest person
I'm a big believer in if they don't need shoes don't use them, also I see you are using what we like to call the "no crap strap" lol...(neckstrap)....just to be on the safe side haha😂😂
Thank you so much Miri, I have found your channel a real tonic in a world of people that think they know it all. You are so open to sharing your feelings and knowledge but above all showing us your learning journey. The feed bit I loved, at 63 and having had horses 50+ years I learnt stuff. Wish Emily ATB for her future but your's is bright and looking forward to seeing you out with your girls and of course the wonderful Obi. Take care and Merry Christmas
Allotment 13 Thankyou so much for your kind comment. It really means so much knowing you enjoyed my video and that you learnt something knew. I can’t wait to be out competing again soon with my girls. Merry Christmas xxx
Miri it's winter time, lack of sunshine and cold weather will get anyone down! Eat healthy and take some supplements and give yourself a treat once a week! Horses are stunning, love Zora 😍
I’m glad you feel that talking to us makes you feel better. I would think working at a stable would at times feel very isolating. Just know that we are indeed on the other side of your camera! That being said, I enjoyed seeing what you feed and how the various horses are coming along. I am now a subscriber so I won’t miss future videos.
Loved the beginning of the video - all these feelings are so prevalent in the horse world when you are riding/training/trying to earn a living - I don't think we talk about it enough honestly. I used to feel really lonely in it.
Your videos are something that I look forward to and make time for. We seem to have a similar approach to horses. If we were in the same country, I would definitely send you my resume in the hopes of a job.
Hi Mim I feel your pain. I'm self employed sole trader and have been for a number of years. It's very overwhelming and easy to feel like you've become a victim of your own success. Training and caring for horses is a 7 day a week thing and it's hard to factor in your own relaxing time. Talking about your feelings is a great way of owning them and not letting them own you. Alot of people will give you advice but all you can do is what works for you. If anxiety is showing its head in an increasing detrimental way then I truly recommend acupuncture. You are an amazing horse person xx
Chell Symons Thankyou for your kind message. Acupuncture is an interesting one as I have used it before for back pain but not stress release. I’ll give it a go 🥰
I had just turned this on to have something on while I get ready for work. I’ve been feeling very burnt out and full anxiety and really just down but I haven’t been able to articulate it to anyone. I much appreciate your authenticity, it’s always nice to know someone out there understands how you feel. ❤️
The purple gloves and teal stirrups are quite a combo! 😆 Also can I just say it makes my heart sing to see you making your horses stand when you get on, is my absolute pet hate when horses just wander off as soon as your foot hits the stirrup, not to mention so dangerous!
Awesome video... Would love to take Emilie's place 😅 been in the equine world for almost 3 decades now and I'm not "going to stop doing horses" the struggles and push backs have been out of this world but horses are my life. Wishing Emilie all the best in her journey after she leaves and all the best to you too 🥰 keep up the great work with the ponies 💪🤠👍
I just wanted to encourage you today. I also had my own business as a violinist, performing, teaching a doing clinics. (And riding my horse on the side.) So, I totally get how you feel when you talk about feeling alone with a lot of responsibility. But then YOU just need to watch yourself ride (AMAZING rider) and your affect on horses. And think of how many riders and horses you have helped and trained along the way. You are so talented. Stay strong (and warm!). Going now to watch your Instagram😊❤
Patti 1962 Thankyou so much!! I played violin when I was young and it gave me a sore shoulder 🤣 skinny child problems hahah. But Thankyou again for your kind comment it means a lot xx
Another great video, thank you 👍🏻 I’ve noticed that you’re very good at scheduling and planning your days, can I suggest that you schedule in “you” time and precisely what you’re going to do with your “you” time slot with the same level of priority you give to working the youngsters. I think you put yourself and your needs at the bottom of the priority list and if the days timings go to rat 💩 the bit that gets dropped and forgotten is “you” time! For your sake that needs to change or there’s a danger that you’ll get sour and start resenting and not enjoying something that’s your passion. Schedule time, set it in stone, non negotiable, schedule it in mid morning or mid afternoon if that’s what it takes to stop you sacrificing and loosing the opportunity at the end of the day because you’re busy. Make it an “I am going to” job rather than an “I’ll try to” or “i will if...”, you’d never prioritise feeding the horses as “i’ll try to feed them” or I’ll feed them if..” your mental health is equally as important as feeding the horses. Right I better get off ‘mi soap box now I’m starting to get vertigo it’s so bloody high!! 🤦🏻♀️😆 xx
Kathy Jones Parry your so right. And I’m so bad at this, my boyfriend is so understanding of my work and being busy so I think sometimes I get away with just working and not looking after myself. I’m going to start doing this. That’s a promise xxx
What you said at the start really resonated with me! I work from home on our farm, my horses and dog groom from home too! I find it so hard to get up some days as I just feel like I have too much to do and not enough hours in the day, but it’s ok to feel like that, and find just taking a day off a week to re set really helps! So so true though what you said! If it wasn’t for all of them relying on me to keep them alive I would struggle a lot more!😂
Hehe both Zora and Mo feeling the winter chill up their bums haha both looking a picture of health though! Penny is so beautiful, sorry to hear that about her owner but she's in the very best care while she recovers :) I really liked the look of the safe and sound chaff but my mare colicked off a small about of it unfortunately. She's so sensitive for a big old lump lol but really interesting seeing what the feeds all look like after the explanations in last weeks video xx
Loved the vlog, your love and dedication towards your horses is admirable, the second you talk about them your eyes and face light up it is truly wonderful to see. I am glad that you felt better once you had expressed how you were feeling. 🐱
So darn true I feel the same way my self and husband work in the equine industry seven days a week no days off doing everything from riding feeding turnout mucking all the fun behind the seen stuff I feel you girl and love the honesty I love your vlogs and the horses all look amazing great job Zora is freaking wonderful I'm so excited to see her grow and turn into her best self 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💪💪💪💪🐴

Zora is doing nicely! I'm new to your videos and I'm enjoying them . I'm 57 and I used to have as Arabian mare named Zora. Actually the same color. Your patients is obviously paying off . You are very good with all your horses.
@@hackettequine2059 we all have good days and bad. You have to remember all that you have accomplished and keep going. I'm IN USA. IF I LIVED IN ENGLAND I WOULD BEG YOU TO CARE FOR MY HORSES:)
I don't own my own horse and never will did use to ride for my auntie but that was a lifetime ago and life took me in another direction called motherhood But I still love watching horsey videos brings back memories never really comment on them either but anyway thanks for sharing
It is tough when you suffer from anxiety. I believe that most of us have anxiety from one degree to another and it is a lot more common than most people know. In fact, I would go on to say that if you do not suffer from anxiety at some stage throughout your life, you are indeed a very fortunate person indeed. In other words anxiety for most of us is pretty normal. I think when we become overloaded or we learn about something which is going to take place which we wish wasn't going to happen, it can trigger anxiety, procrastination, depression, conflict sometimes resulting in putting things off and feelings of hopelessness and a desire to give up. Knowing you feel this way is half the battle. Understanding you might have anxiety is also good and it's normal and ok to feel this way. You did well. You talked about it and shared it and perhaps offloaded some of it and by the time you get through your day your endorphins are running freely and you feel better..thanks for sharing, thanks for the great video and the interesting info you share. I love watching and learning from all you do...thank you
Been watching g you for awhile, thanks for sharing all your animals and everything in your life❤️ I really love your videos, take care and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year🎄🎄
Hi I know how you feeling because if I did not have my dog I would stay in bed all day I have little confidence in myself and find it hard to do things that I would like to do you are a talented lady I watch all you vlogs and enjoy them keep talking to us as we all probably feel the same way as you you always Brighton up my day love you and your horses and dogs xx
It's not exactly the same but I understand how you feel. I've worked really hard over the years with my dogs. This year there will be two of my breeding going to crufts. Which is great. Apart from my disabilities have been really bad recently n I feel like giving up. Which will be really bad cos my dogs are great n I've worked really hard to get where I am
Created an instagram account specifically to follow you and check out that video, I hope you're happy :P Super excited to see you get back into jumping!

I contacted the company as we have a 17 hh Warmblood cross gelding rescue in at the barn right now. They gave me loads of information on how to help him get his weight back. As he is only 10, and our RSPCA had him checked from top to bottom and he is sound. Nothing wrong with any joints, other than being at good weight. So right now, he is on 5 small meals a day, free hay and water. Bravo's weight was only 380 kgs when we received him. So we are very careful about feed, so that he doesn't colic or anything like that. The RSPCA gave him a body score of only 2. He is a tall horse at 17 hh, and this weight was worrisome to me until I contacted the company you had come to your barn. Our hay was tested, as the barn owner always buys from the same person, and the score was 9.2. So we are quite happy that you did that feed video!! As they were able to give us valuable information on how to get Bravo back to weight! So thank you so much!! Videos like that, has just saved a horse from being put down as our RSPCA could not find a place for him. Best Regards, and Heartfelt THANK YOU, from Ontario, Canada, Jenn
Well how cool is that!! If my video can help just one horse like yours. I would love to see your before admins after photos if you would like to share them: this makes me so happy I can’t tell you. Keep up the good fight. Miri xx
@@hackettequine2059 I'll do my best to get the photos so you can see how Bravo turns out. I'll also try to get a few in between photos. Again. Thank you so much. That visit and company information you gave came at just the right time for Bravo.
We had the dentists out the other week for the horses at ours. The last one we did was a brood made. First time since the baby and oh her mouth was not nice, hooks and so wavy!
As far as your energy goes, I strongly recommend that you go to a good G P doctor and get a check up. You could be low in thyroid, which leaves you feeling tired especially in the morning. Or be insufficient some where else. You could need a boost in the B vitamins area. Just a friendly suggestion.😊
Hi Miri! I was wondering if you could post a link for the pad you're using with Mo... I have a TB cross with high withers and I'm trying to build her toppline, but I don't quite understand how using just the half pad works for building the topline😔 I'm using an 18" wintec ap adjustable gullet synthetic saddle.. Thank you!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi Miri I love you channel and you inspire me so much. I have a 6 month old and was wondering if you knew where to get bone Kare from for young ones I’m in the uk x
What is the calming powder call/who makes it? I'm in dire need of something to help my gelding not throw a fit when I take my filly away for training sessions.
Your first horse looked lame in its back end when you were walking it down your drive ? And wasn’t tracking up properly but you know your horse. Also I like your videos ❤️
I understand miri go through that a lot I have support because I have mental health problems so I get a few hours support to get motivated to get out do house chores and one of the laddies who worked with me decided she could do the job because she has stress and it is causing pain inflammation so she gave me two weeks notice and finished last Wednesday .so yesterday thought there's no way anyone will have time to take in those hours before Christmas so Christmas stresses me and now I have less hours support to get me organised so oh joy. So yah mega stress for you too . So you're not alone. Definitely better for horses without shoes nails can cause infection and absesses and also can weaken the wall . There is forma hoof which they make a mould of the hoof and then fill it in then pull the mould off it is used for hoof health or permanent bases some point a metal shoe underneath which why they did this on a diabetic mare which it's quite a tough durable with grip so they don't slip. There are some videos from forma hoof on utube there interesting if you get chance you could do with a couple of barn hands surprised no one has approached you locally for some volunteering experience. Mo is doing really well so soon after returning back to work. Bouncing sounds like she is a teenager again feeling the oats. 😆
Clare Tollerton I’m sorry to hear your lost your help. Maybe someone will come along! And yes I try to keep them all bare foot if I can. I’ll be sure to look up the suggestions your made, thanks for them. Mo is a wild thing... minus the oats haha
Penny a smooth sound pony shame about the owner hopefully pysio will get her back to normal soon . Is penny a Norwegian fyorrd I was watching a norwegian fyorrd today pulling a cart on utube she looks alike that one..
I know this is 4 months after the fact but maybe your vitamin D level is off. I would get your level checked and your thyroid levels checked. Ive started taking melanin about an hour befor i plan to go to bed anf it helps. I know you probably wont take the advice of a youtube worrier, but im a nurse. Ive seen this before and these things really do affect mood.
Miri please get some blood tests done, this sounds like your Thyroid might be out. I understand you have a LOT and I mean a LLOOTT on your plate and you're so right to talk about it! But get yourself checked all the same x
@@hackettequine2059 it also could be seasonal affective disorder! Just something to keep in mind. I'm self employed and I find it so difficult to get up in the morning and walk my dogs and see clients, and I think if i didn't have that responsibility I probably wouldn't leave my bed😂 I'm using a light therapy lamp in the morning and it makes me feel less dead and more motivated to get on with the day, but what you're feeling is totally normal!! Even if its just stress, s.a.d, thyroid issues or whatever life throws at you! Just keep getting up in the morning and keep trying every day😊💖

I don't own my own horse and never will did use to ride for my auntie but that was a lifetime ago and life took me in another direction called motherhood But I still love watching horsey videos brings back memories never really comment on them either but anyway thanks for sharing
I LOVE U, I LOVE HOW REAL U R. NO SUGAR COATING THE DAY. GOD BLESS U! KEEP SHARING YOUR FEELINGS & YES IT HELPS TO TALK IT OUT!
I love watching and learning from all you do...thank you
Gillian Esquilant Thankyou for your kind comment, I feel so much better with everyone’s support. I need more time for myself. That’s important xx

Hi I don’t normally comment but the end is killing me so funny 😂 Baby Z
Sugar Coated Glitter she’s such a little bugger 🤣🤣
So sad about Emily leaving! You two seem to really get along.
Just realized how much Mo resembles Zora. Coincidence? I think not.
Thanks Miri its fascinating finding out about what horses eat.
It's not exactly the same but I understand how you feel. I've worked really hard over the years with my dogs. This year there will be two of my breeding going to crufts. Which is great. Apart from my disabilities have been really bad recently n I feel like giving up. Which will be really bad cos my dogs are great n I've worked really hard to get where I am
equitime77 wow that’s an amazing achievement

@@hackettequine2059 Sure did! Now I'm off to slowly stalk some of your other posts in between doing work. Baby Jesus gettin' swole was a high-light ;)
Great vlog! Thanks 👏💕

Zora is so beautiful.Lovely to see her first hack and progress.. So lovely to see you riding Mo again..can I ask why you prefer mares to geldings Miri? Xx
Sandra Wheeler thanks Sandra, I’m not sure just seem to have happened that way. I like how hard they try but then Obi is the same. XX
I love your honesty xxx
I wish I lived closer to you miri,I would love to come and work for you❤🙂🙂🙂
We had the dentists out the other week for the horses at ours. The last one we did was a brood made. First time since the baby and oh her mouth was not nice, hooks and so wavy!
always look forwards to your videos🤍
Its amazing, you sure are extremely bright and intelligent for your young age.
As far as your energy goes, I strongly recommend that you go to a good G P doctor and get a check up. You could be low in thyroid, which leaves you feeling tired especially in the morning. Or be insufficient some where else. You could need a boost in the B vitamins area. Just a friendly suggestion.😊
Would the bit not be interfering with the noesband I would take of the nose band
Skye Annabelle I get mine from my vet. Not easy to get though at the moment. I think due to the import laws maybe?
Hackett Equine okay thank you it does seem like a pain to get do you know of any alternatives ? X
Will you get anymore horses or a horse?
What is the calming powder call/who makes it? I'm in dire need of something to help my gelding not throw a fit when I take my filly away for training sessions.
Q Tee I’ll edit my description at put it in. X
what kind of saddle do you have?
Anne Ward I have a few but the one I rode zora and Mo in is a Butet 💕
I saw you at the bury farm car boot sale
Equine_ Blossom come say hi is you see me again 🥰
You need to find some one that you can find one that like horse
What kind of Horse Shampoo products do you use? Also how old are your dogs? They are Lovely.
Tay Webb I love smart Groomimg horse shampoos and they are 5 (lexi) and 6 (Bentley)
what’s the song in the intro?
eh what it’s called Wichita. Not sure the artist. I get all of my music from epidemic sound 😊
Your first horse looked lame in its back end when you were walking it down your drive ? And wasn’t tracking up properly but you know your horse. Also I like your videos ❤️
Equine Jolie &guineapigs which horse?
Equine Jolie &guineapigs the second bay mare?
so overweight? common do you even know horses dont comment false stuff
@@matagotangel if you think zora is overweight i'm scared of what you think is a healthy weight for a three year old in winter
Your dogs eating the horse feed 🤣 just incase you didn’t know and it was bad for your dog
Zora needs a toy and it's interesting to see how she's grown, she isn't 60% legs like when you got her :P
❤️❤️
Penny a smooth sound pony shame about the owner hopefully pysio will get her back to normal soon . Is penny a Norwegian fyorrd I was watching a norwegian fyorrd today pulling a cart on utube she looks alike that one..
She's a Welsh Cob
Is anyone else watching the dog eat the horse food
Yes!! Lol
He’s always doing it! Expensive dog food 🤣🤣
I can come and help if u ever need any help
Love your accent. Are you from Australia?
Dominika Nowakowska She is from England
Save money by feeding hay. Dying laughing in the land of nearly 30 dollar hay bales.
KMichelle Argus hay isn’t cheap but surely cheaper than hard feed?
40$ for pellets, another 60$ for chaff, 15$ for dynavite, 40$ for Copra or speedi beat
I’m sorry you are losing Emily. I hope you find someone as great as she is to replace her.
Ive seen this before and these things really do affect mood.
try to get some vit d! hugs
Miri please get some blood tests done, this sounds like your Thyroid might be out. I understand you have a LOT and I mean a LLOOTT on your plate and you're so right to talk about it! But get yourself checked all the same x
Kim Parker Adcock that’s interesting what makes you say that?
