The MOST INSANE CAR to Ever Drive in Hollywood! Finding the Mercedes Vision AVTR

- This is not something you will see every day! Timed with the premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water, let's head to Hollywood to not only search for the Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR, but to find myself riding in the passenger seat with the craziest reactions on Hollywood Boulevard!
Created following the first Avatar movie, the Mercedes Vision AVTR is a concept straight from the future; with no steering wheel, a design inspired by nature and Avatar the movie, it moves sideways with a control pad in the centre and more. The partnership from Mercedes and Disney was to create a concept that would bring together humans, machine and nature, and there are signs of this throughout.
Having heard that the car was in Hollywood, we jump into my Mercedes AMG GT Black Series from Orange County for the drive up to see if we can find it. Having been lucky to join Mercedes for a first drive in this very same machine back in summer 2020, I'm excited to see the same car on another continent. This time however, is without prior arrangement but upon arrival it becomes apparent where the car is being prepared at a hotel ahead of driving along the famous road.
Not only that though, the very kind team invited me to take a seat onboard for a short stretch of the road, and to experience the reactions from the crowds of people lining Hollywood Boulevard! What an exciting time for such a unique machine, all connected to the launch this week of the new Avatar: The Way of Water movie.

Only Tim could have driven the car before in Germany and knew enough of the support staff, had positive interactions with them. Then gotten a ride as either the Movie marketing or Mercedes Marketing wanted some rolling shots.
He has worked hard, for many years, to make those connections, to create such a network.
And showing up in a British registered gt black series didn’t hurt either

I think my favorite thing about it is that it works. There's a lot of concept vehicles that can drive but few are like this one. Being driven by basically a ball mouse in the middle of the console. The most importantly that a can steer on all four wheels and still have lights working.
My wife and I took a vacation out there about two years ago. Seeing the sign from the street was crazy

Ya know, I really thought that by looking at the design, that it would sound like luxury inside and feel like riding on a cloud, but it was the opposite and was like riding on absolutely no suspension, rock solid ride that also rattled it so much it sounded like an old deliver van! I think maybe I just expected more!?
It’s just for looks. Has no suspension. Without rubber tires it would destroy itself hitting a pothole on the highway.

It's a movie prop, you can hear it shake and rattle as you drive and can see the gap in the cheaply made door. Reminded me of the kiddie train at the carnival.
