    I agree with other commenters this is by far the most easiest explanation of binding a quilt! Thanks so much! I will refer to this video again and again until I master this!

    Thank you Wendi! I was looking on how to sew in a zipper and found this one on binding. I've made about 25 quilts...I've been doing it the hard way for years! Your way is easier and comes out so much neater! You are a natural teacher and whoever filmed for you did a GREAT JOB! Thank you!

    Thanks so much for your quilting videos. Clear directions and you make it really easy to understand. Especially appreciated the repetition on the corners for the binding. By the last time I had it down so I didn't have to replay the video.

    Great camera work and really clear descriptions. Thank you! I made a quilt for my daughter's first birthday. It was my one and only quilt. She is now 11 and I still have not done the binding! The binding is ready and ironed and with your tutorial I am determined to finish.

    Thank you so much for this video. I'm new to quilting and never really understood how to do the hand stitching on the back of the binding. My first quilt I did it all on the machine like putting on bias tape. Now I an do it the "right" way. Thanks again.

      Me too, I always have to look at videos each time I make a quilt especially the binding part. But I don’t so by hand it would kill my poor little hands. Since this is my first time watching your videos my question is, can I still sew the backside with my sewing machine?

    You have shown a great art of quilting. I would love to see how you cut the binding and join the strips together at the angle. I have a crib quilt ahead of me for the community quilting guild. I have never quilted my own and I am stumped where to start and the layout. You have helped me with this significantly! Thanks for sharing! Really enjoy you work.

    @diwarli It's a Pfaff, but any machine should still sew evenly no matter what speed. If it's not, give it a good cleaning. If it's still not, take it in for a professional cleaning and tune up and tell them what it's doing.

    @TheGurliegeek Thanks so much! I'll admit - I bought a cheapo serger a couple of years ago and it's caused me nothing but aggravation ever since. It sits on my sewing table irritating me every time I see it and making me more determined than ever to do as much as possible with a regular machine. :-)

    There is - and if you search you should be able to find several tutorials. I've tried a few different ways, but I've never really been happy with the results of any of them. They always look kind of sloppy compared to the method I use.

    Im completely new to quilting, is there a name fore this strip pattern?

  • @delawurl5938
    @delawurl5938 8 років тому

    Hi Wendi, When you lined up your first edge, how did you know that edge was straight? In other words, it looked like you just placed the ruler along the edge (like it was already straight.)

    • @WendiGratz
      @WendiGratz  8 років тому

      Usually I do Quilt As You Go and I trim the blocks right before I join them, so I know they're straight. If it's a pieced quilt without QAYG I might need to trim it and square it up first - depending on the quilt.

      I have videos that show how to work with large quilts too - but for a lot of my demos I use small ones so you can see the whole quilt as I work.
