The addition of the lore of the 41st is such a small notion but had huge impact. It changed everything about Zukos sacrifice and answered some long questions of why the fire nation would give a platoon to an exile.
Yes; the showrunners came up with the 41st storyline, but the creators are looking to make our Canon within the story as a whole.

I think this and the 4th episode were my favorites. Both heavy with iroh and Zuko backstory/screen time. They are the best part of this series
Zuko and Iroh are the best in this show❤ Zhao and Ozai are three dimensional here. In the animation series they were just evil and Zhao boring. Greetings from Germany💕

I don't know if you've ever read the comics, but the Mother of Faces is from The Search, and highly recommend if you've never delved into the mainline series.
Roku got kind of shafted on pacing in this ep, but there's no way they can't bring him into the forefront for the season 2 and 3. Everything else was beautiful though, I ugly cried my way through most of the last 20 minutes.

How do you guys feel about the announcement that they renewed for season 2 and they’re going to do 3. I’m pretty happy about it and so excited to see toph to see how they handle her.

Second of 2 things that I did not like about this adaptation... what. the hell. did they do. to Roku???! Just like with the changes they made to Kyoshi's personality, I don't vibe with the changes they made to Roku's personality either. Why is he a goofball?? Yes, in his younger years, Roku was a goofball --- but when we meet him in spirit form, we meet a Roku that feels the true weight of the war - who feels responsible for that war because he could not stop his own friend from going down a very dark path. We meet a burdened Roku. A solemn Roku. I would still say I dislike them turning Kyoshi from calm and collected to antagonistic and aggressive more... but I certainly don't like what they did to Roku either.
What I loved though was the 41st division becoming Zuko's crew. That was a brilliant choice! It lends weight to Zuko's character, choices, and sacrifice. And the development between Aang and Zuko was lovely too.

Ok guys good show but can we all agree that there was a reason why the original writers left from Nickelodeon cause there are a'lot of Red Flags.
Don't care about that ... netflix did it's job and it worked
