Very refreshing to get a review where everything is covered & explained to this level. Thankyou Buddy, I’ve gotta have one of these! Awesome versatile amp! 👍
Yeah thanks I still use it
@@BrentHutchinson Hi Brent - Use Cube Street EX for Bouzouki & Mandola. Excellent amp. I hope you don't mind my pointing out that when connecting an instrument such as guitar etc., to no 1 channel ( inst selected ) you will need to use a balanced trs lead. You will see that they have provided a diagram showing plug wiring for using this channel underneath the input , ie hot- cold- gnd. It doesn't work with unbalanced ts leads i.e. hot - cold/gnd combined . Best Regards - Tom Sheehy
Thank you for the demo. I think you also have a great voice!
Thank you so much
Amazing review..great player and singer..
Very well done review. I feel like I have a very good understanding of how to hook up and use this amp. Your demos were tasteful and you did a great job of showing off what this amp is capable of. I will only be using it for acoustic guitar and vocals but I still enjoyed watching the electric guitar portion of your video, your playing was tasteful, not over-the-top. I'm sold, well done!
Nice review yes it’s a lovely amp i use it all the time these days.🎼🎶🎸👍🏼
Hello! I'm from Russia. I have not read the comments, I do not know English, I am writing with the help of Google translator from Russian to English. I also ordered this in the Russian muzmag. And I ordered separately the metal hybrid Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries with a capacity of 2500 ma. In your video, you made a mistake with the battery size format. According to the instructions, the size is AA. Well, probably someone has already paid attention to this, and you yourself later noticed it. That's why I am writing that I could not read) special thanks for the video, very informative. I also have a Yamaha APXT2. I wish you success !!!
Talent literally on a different level my man. Amazing review.
Great playing and great vid man. This exactly what I want to know in the amp could pull off.
Thanks for the great review, very helpful!
Sounds really good Brent Thank you its on my list of 1 😊
Great demo Brent, thanks for putting this together!
Very helpful review:)
The amp seems very good! I'm still playing with the Harley Benton amp that came with the guitar my father bought a while ago, so I'm looking for an amp for myself. I'm going to keep looking but this amp is definetely on the list, thank you:)
Great video ! All i wanted to know about this gear !!!Well done
Great info. I have owned this amp for years and used it for magic performances of crowds from 10 to 300. Outdoors and indoors. Now I use it for guitar. I’ve always loved this amp.
You use this roland cube for 300 people...I dont think 50 wat cant cover 300 people
Does it have to be miked up for larger venues? Running through the house PA from the line outs? Also does it work good with Boss pedals?
Excellent, informative. Just purchased. Thank you
Wow I’m impressed with this demo, I went busking today and I feel the missing element was an amp, I love how versatile it is, will be on the look out, ps great guitar work 👌
Great thorough review. I am evaluating various models since new technology has been introduced into some competitors. This is high on my list. I wish Roland/Boss would upgrade this to newer technology with that implemented in Katana line,
Super review thanks a bunch!
Great amp. I chose it because of the battery option which I use at craft show where I sell Cigar Box guitars. Thanks for the review. Sentinel Guitars made in Bozeman MT.
Crackin review buddy. A great all round amp. Do i need one? no, do i want one? hell yeah although i do have the 5w cube.
Sweet!..I have the same amp but still just learning it's full potential. Love the additional instrument plug in such as bass guitar to acoustic guitar and vocals.
Thank you for posting this video. It's the best demo I've seen on the Roland Cube Street EX.
Thank you... hope it was helpfull
@@BrentHutchinson Yes, very much !
Excelente, gracias por la demostración, buen amplificador
This was really helpfull :) Thank you so much for this !
The best review. Thanks a lot
Excellent. Thanks for posting.
Great review. Thank you
Thanks for that. Just what I need. Great work :)
This little amp can do a lot more than I need. It sound great too. You can get a Bluetooth connectivity amp but sound crap when you sing. Of course cannot compare to a bigger PA system but for one man busker this is the best amp so far. Thanks for your review.
Excellent review and playing.
Just bought my Roland Cube Street EX and looking forward to using it on my smaller gigs! Like the song very much and the looper. I have one on my effects pedal and gonna have to get my head round using it! LOL!! Thanks for the post!
Enjoy my good man it's an awesome bit of kit!
Nice review, fine singing and playing, great sounding mini PA. I like your style.
Fanx :)
you have a nice sounding voice and demonstrate this gadget admirably!

Thanks and they are great! Let me know how you get on
Great review Brent - useful too! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your enthusiasm
Thank u very much. I found a lot of answers that I couldnt find in the official web site.
Great review and explanation on the features of this amp. Will be my next amp purchase. I also thought your vocals and guitar playing were awesome,it's not easy using a looper pedal to get everything in sync. Cheers
Thanks very much. It's a great all round amp :)
Very nice video!
Thanks for the information bro see you
Superb review good sir.
Cheers to you
Thanks so much
Nice Review. I got this little P.A for the battery use. It's been my go to every since I got it. I leave the big one at home. Love this little P.A. for what I do. A vocal tone tip. Get the TC Helicon harmony singer! The tone button is a game changer even if u dont use the harmony function.
I have one and use it all the time:)
The best review I have ever seen. thanks
..best review yet....thanks
Thank for watching :)
Great review, Brent. I'm just about to buy a Cube EX for busking and I wasn't sure. I am now. Cheers.
Yeah it's great for busking built like a tank too .. enjoy:)
Brent great demo and I really like your style of playing, i'm really looking at this product to down size from the Marshall etc and now in Retirement keeping the guitars and moving to this versatile amp. As you said it can take effects but then again I still have another Amp for that..thank you very much for the demo and keep well. I have subscribed cheers Downunder in Oz.
Solid review, cracking playing. Might have to be my next purchase. New subcriber.
Welcome aboard!
Great review
Good Stuff... Excellent Video, Well Explained!!! - 👍
Thanks for this. I've had one of these for a few years and really hadn't explored all the bells and whistles. Now I want to do a bit of busking so I'll finally put it to proper use ! ( P.S. the recording tips were very helpful too ! )
Cheers for this demo and review. I owned the little brother of this one. The Roland Cube Street. And that one even though it's small, it's already loud enough for small room or hall venues. I'd really love to buy this one. You play the guitar really well too. And last thing was the batteries. I bought those batteries at Poundland and it's really good batteries. xtralife.
Thanks I love this amp :)
Brent Hutchinson cheers!
I’m looking forward to sale my Bugera V55, save some more money and buy the street cube EX! Can’t wait for it!
Just grabbed one. I was pretty sold, this review gave me peace of mind. Cheers.
Hope you enjoy I still use mine :)
@@BrentHutchinson
She’s a good little unit, I’m still getting a handle on it as it is my first amp since owning a Marshall Valvestate 100 playing metal power chords as a kiddo. Haha.
Might buy this EX over the regular Cube Street thanks to your review. Cheers.
Thanks for watching. It's a great little amp
Great review, I’ve bought one, but I’m thinking of buying a second and using that one simply as a pa for the first
Great Video man ! Well done
Cheers Tim
awesome dude. best demo yet on line.....i am SOLD. !!! greatly appreciate your video. thank. YOU. !!
I like the technique of holding the pick whilst you finger pick - i like a combo of both to - but never thought of doing it that way ;)
Excellent review. Thanks very much. You have provoked a sale, and I hope you get a royalty for that ! Good performer too. And what is the great little acoustic you’re playing there? Thanks again….
Excelent review mate, I just wandering if can be connected to a subwoofer?
Great review! You told me all I needed to know. Thanks! :)
Glad it was helpful :)
@@BrentHutchinson It was very helpful, now I just need to save up the dosh for it! Cheers! (PS, I`ve subbed) 👍 :)
@@Devonshire-Bey welcome aboard !
@@BrentHutchinson Ta! :)
Yes it’s a fantastic amp i use mine all the time these days as you said amazing amp great value for the money.🎼🎶🎸😊👍🏼
the guitar sounds great mate
I did not expect that singing voice to come from that speaking voice. Quite lovely, indeed. Great review. Would love to see you review the newly released Boss Street Cube II.
I'm getting my Boss cube Street 2 this week. Been waiting since May. But still wonder If I should rather get the EX
Of course the street 2 has a built in Looper and harmony Vocals and Bluetooth but is only 10 watts. I had the older Roland cube street which was only 5 watts. Hoping the Boss will be better sound but iv'e heard from some Sweetwater reviews that it's not that much better.
You will love it!
That is A Great Amp I have even played pedal Steel guitar With this Amp Thanks for the Video 🎸🎸👽
My pleasure
It may be a great amp, almost certainly, maybe too big and with more options than I "need", I'm a beginner and I only play at home.
What I'm totally sure of is that this is the best amp review I've ever seen on youtube. Congratulations.
Maybe I'll go for the Orange Crush 20rt
Thank you yeah if you are a home beginner try the vox vt20 x brilliant for the money 🤘🎸
@@BrentHutchinson Thanks, I'll take a look 👍🎸
Great review! Could I play keys through it and sing?
This was super helpful as I am a singer/songwriter type seeking a battery-powered, high fidelity amp. A lot of videos focus on the guitar side of these amps. I’m even more concerned with how will the amp present my singing voice? Anyway, thank you, Brent. You sound really good. Keep on playing your songs!
Thanks glad it was helpful
Agreed. 99% of the reviews on these are a music store shredding away on the crunch mode for 10 minutes and then the video ends without ever plugging a mic in
Liked this a lot, thanks for the review! I busk for a living, and have the Cube Street (smaller version of this one) and really wanted to know how the Ex can cope as an all-rounder, since I'll probably sell off my old Valvestate Marshall to upgrade to the Ex. I also had doubts about how it copes with the electric guitar (my Street Cube just doesn't deal well with my Gretsch) but if your Aria sounds good through the Ex then that bodes well for my Gretsch. I am thinking it is the extra wattage that's really managing that, as the channels between the two amps are very similar (of course I could always add some extra external effects pedals in time). I'll most probably keep the smaller one for scaled down acoustic/vocal-only busks, or as two more back-up channels - along with the Ex - for a band scenario. We'll see.
Ta again and happy busking to ye mate!
Excellent! thanks so much!
You are welcome
You are welcome
I have one and luv it!
Very nice!
Lovely - playing.... :-)
I bought the original Roland Cube Street (smaller, less features and power) about twelve years ago, it's been a great amp. I bought a Cube Street EX a few years ago and I absolutely love this amp. Sounds great, is packed with useful features. As a solo or duo acoustic performer, it's fantastic. If anything ever happens to this amp I will definitely want to get another one.
In terms of guitar tones, which of the two do you like better?
in term of vocals, does it compliment it well ?? thx
Ok I know this is an old video but it is a great one. Awesome job all around showing the features of the amp. And a great job looping too. Fantastic overall
Thank you :)
But the way, I just bought one of these. Can’t wait for it to show up. Are you still using it? Or have you found something newer that you like?
Nice voice, Man. Mine is 1yr. Old.
Wow bro... Nice.. 😀
Respect 😉
Thanks Brent, great review. What looper do you use? Cheers, Geoff, Australia
Brilliant review, what if you got another Roland street cube same wattage and connected them up in stereo, using the Radial ABY pedal, to stop noise
that would sound epic but cost a fair bit :)
Great review and I bought mine for a lot of the same reasons. Its also relatively quiet in terms of hum and hiss, especially if on battery power! :) My only wish is a mode that went one option lower on the watts, I find even on eco mode its a bit too loud for apartment playing for crunch and lead.
Yeah that would be a good feature
GTREAT STUFF Brent great vids and very helpful ! can i attach my TC helicon harmoniser for the voice to it ?? THX
You sure can
Thx Brent👍🎶
Thank you so much for this complete review/ demo. I'm looking for the right street amp for voice and cello...wondering if either or both inputs are +48v ,at least as an option ?
Thanks, no there is no phantom power.
Hi Brent thanks for a great video. would you recommend the ex for sax players too?
Yeah man its basically a mini P.A.
I'm the lucky 7,777th subscriber 🎉❤
I have new Boss Cube street 2, love the vocal harmony and bluetooth (xtra) built in looper. Plenty of volume hope you can get one to review.
yeah looks interesting thanks will see if I can
Nice demo Nice song Nice voice
Great review, thank you. I'm considering this amp for sure! How would you hook it up to a house system so you could still control all of the effects? I don't really understand how the R/L line outs work. Which type of cable would you use?
Hi it has stereo out or mono out you would use a normal hack lead say for a guitar and then you could use an adapter on the other end if you need to. Depends what you are plugging in to.
Wow that is such an amazing and versatile amp, for very little money?
Great review. Would it be possible to have 2 mics and acoustic guitar a la Simon and Garfunkel?
sure
