A good friends just sold me a 2.0 diesel. Quite looking forward to a bit of fixing up. Previously owned a 2.0 V6 petrol ten years ago. Great cars. A proper baby Bentley.

Just picked up a black 2004 Connoisseur today for £300. Now I know how to find the MAF, thanks!
Pro tip for the Allen key, when you need more leverage, use a small deep socket and an extension bar. Slide it over, hold carefully and undo ;)

Thanks Simone. I used to have a MG ZT Diesel that I used to service. Your video brings back memories. 🙂

A wheel and tyre makes a good step that won't slip away which might help you reach and save your back.

I am not being funny but this is a classic do not do it this way type of video, under no circumstances should you pry up on the T connector that is fitted into the injector as is shown in this video, also no need to remove the captive bolts to the PCV filter casing? i personally still think the PCV filter is better than the BMW type, they are not fit and forget as some may think, i am sure next time you will have a better knowledge of how to replace the PCV, also how did you get on re-fitting the air filter cover?

Please explain then how to remove filter cover with the t-piece and pipe in the way then?

@@CortinasAndClassics Hi, Simone, just spotted this and the above reply.
Folk appear to forget you have never worked on one of these before, especially the PCV assembly and you are on a steep learning curve, as we all are when attempting something new, even me at 76 and 60 years on the spanners, 😉always prepared to have a go and learn and as with many things, once you've done one you learn short cuts. 😂.
I welcome constructive criticism, but only when the person criticising says " You did that wrong, but this is the correct way to do it ", unlike the person above.
You answered correctly, the correct way is to remove the spill pipes and T pieces, to a) make it easier to remove the valve and more important b) to prevent breaking the T pieces which become brittle, they will always break on a Sunday afternoon, they are cheap enough though, always good to have a couple in stock, what the poster also above forgets to mention is that nowhere in Rovers service specs is mentioned a mileage / time limit for changing the filter, that's why they get so clogged up, however BMW did and do specify the filter change period.
The main thing you did it successfully, didn't break or lose anything and more important didn't have the " I wonder where that should have gone " thought, as you spot something lurking about.😱
Keep up the good work, the only advice I can give you is......................take care of your hands, knees and back............don't ask me why, but I can sand filler with the palms of my hands, can still crawl about under motors and under dashes, but it takes me longer to stand back up then do the job sometimes.😊

@@silversurf6159 thank you silver. Very kind of you for watching. I'm in my 40's and I ache when climbing out from under the car. I did the best I could on this car and kept an eye on everything. Even had advice from a few owners of these cars so I know the commenter above is wrong. I have more jobs coming up for the Rover, stay tuned 🙂
