    Really interesting and impressive seeing how many layers of composting you use to create the final shot! I find it hard to keep track of more than 4 characters at a time.

    So much work for a scene that only goes for a few secs. I know what that is like! A real pain in the butt to move 50 army men at the same time.

  • @BrickGalaxycreatives
    @BrickGalaxycreatives 10 років тому

    You must have a dope sheet to check off which directions each character is moving and to keep track of them all, even with playback in Dragon there are some insanely complicated movements to keep track of.

    Man how do you keep track of so many characters walking at the same toms and remember who taking a step and who is in mid step?
    I ask because it is always a tricky thing for me. I rarely will do large group shops with more than 2 or 3 characters because it is hard to make them all look fluid in their movement

    I know it's a lot to ask but it would be very helpful to see a more detailed video of how you go about compositing in After Effects. That piece of software is about as powerful as anything commercially available to film makers, and maybe especially animators, but as you know it has a learning curve that's more of a 90-degree angle. Anything a little more detailed would be most appreciated.

    Do you recommend a free program to use greenscreen? I'm planning to do a remake of Master And Commander; The Far Side of the World. I got the ships, and want to recreate a fight scene when the HMS Surprise confronts the Acheron. There's this big scene of 3 seconds when you see the Acheron opening fire on the Surprise, further away. That scene I want to make with green screen, but I want to learn it at first and have a simple cheap program to use.. Got recommendations?
