- We learned today from Square Enix itself that they'll be "aggressively" focusing on a new multiplatform strategy that includes "Nintendo platforms." Now, this to me clearly indicates that we'll be seeing their major AAA titles on Switch 2. Let's talk about it.

I was getting sick and tired of their loyalty to just one platform, I only prefer to play on PC and Nintendo. This is a huge win.

it’s not about loyalty to PS5, it was that the switch literally can’t run their newest games
Pretty much a no brainer. I expect Atlus to follow suit.
Atlus is a multiplaformer for their games but P3R will be ported to switch 2 as a completed bundle edition.

Atlus will probably even upscale P5R too.
Nintendo won't announce a Switch 2 game, but nothing is stopping square from announcing a switch 2 game.

I really hope that Dragon Quest III HD 2D Remake is still in the works and not cancelled and that it comes out on Nintendo Switch and/or Nintendo Switch's successor. I also hope that Dragon Quest XII is multiplatform day and date too.
I think we could see DQ3 soon, maybe even release this year tbh. They don’t have much else announced after Visions of Mana which is summer

It’s common sense to bring games to Nintendo. It’s becoming impossible to ignore Switch’s massive 140+ million install base that could potentially migrate in waves to the Switch successor.

What ever happend to dragon quest 3 HD and dragon quest x offline? Shouldn't we have these by now.
X Offline came out last year, it was never announced to get localized though. Hopefully it happens eventually.

I've been doing a lot of thinking recently about how the Switch 2 might change my approach to owning multiple consoles. I got into the PS4 generation very late (my first non-Nintendo console) and bought a PS5 last year. Overall, it's been fun owning a PlayStation, as I've gotten to play some great games that the Switch never got. However, it's easy to see how unimpressive the PS5 has been and how easily Sony has squandered so much of the goodwill they earned during the early years of the PS4.
I've already built up a decent little PlayStation library, but I'd be totally fine abandoning PlayStation again if all the major franchises start coming to Switch 2. Stuff like Final Fantasy, Elden Ring, Street Fighter 5, Metaphor: ReFantazio and Like a Dragon would be game changers. At that point, I would really only be keeping my PS5 around for the exclusives and for those few remaining titles that haven't gone multiplatform yet. I think I can see myself playing exclusively on Switch 2 in a few years, with at most maybe a Steam Deck to fill in the gaps.
Then again, as long at Bloodborne and Gravity Rush won't get PC ports, I guess my PlayStation still has its uses...
Sony is probably sweating because of this lol. If Switch 2 can run this stuff, NO ONE in Japan is going to buy a PS5/6.
I’ll always keep one because I like PS Studios games, but for everything else I’d be more than happy to play them on a Nintendo console.
@@BoTalksGames I wonder what Sony was expecting, really, when they abandoned their Japanese roots and started aiming for the Western market. They gave Nintendo the perfect opportunity to retake their place as market leader.
@@BoTalksGamesto say no one in japan would buy a ps5 or 6 if nintendo got them games is super weird. Playstation is still a giant brand over there, regardless of many third party games also go onto switch 2, the playstation won’t just lose its player base.
@@cwega2463 7 year old Switch is outselling the 3 year old PS5 2:1 in Japan *without* the major Japanese games that are moving PS5s over there. Why would anyone buy one if they can get a cheaper Nintendo handheld that can play everything?
It might not be an immediate drop off but they should definitely be worried.
It makes you wonder if the scalping problem with PS5 had never happened, would the sells of final fantasy been such an issue.
Maybe I'm just jaded because of Square Enix's line up of action RPGs on Switch (Not bad but should've been better) but I don't have any faith in them to give native ports of the previous Kingdom Hearts games on the next Nintendo system especially if it's backwards compatible.
I have a feeling that they're just gonna point at the cloud versions and call it a day.
the thing is Nintendo needs nothing from Square Enix other than the Final Fantasy 7 related stuff, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts, but other than that Nintendo doesn't need Final Fantasy because it already has its own IP like The Last Story which they could do something much better than the things Square has done with recent final fantasy, Nintendo already has some of the biggest JRPGs IPs in modern times, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem, it even has IPs that it hasn't used for a long time like Golden Sun, The Last Story which I already mentioned, Pandora's Tower, Soma Bringer, Nintendo doesn't need thirs parties, what it needs are devs making games with their IPs, because nintendo doesn't have the time and the amount of people required to work in all its franchises

@@therealjaystone2344 tbh Nintendo needs call of duty, it needs any type of game like that, Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc., it needs them but they will never be the reason why people buy a Nintendo console, people buy a Nintendo switch to play Nintendo games

Rumors about FF7 remake to switch 2 console already exist before the news. I knew AAA PS5 games won't last for long after it getting their PC port.
PC ports take up to 2 years later.
Other platforms take up to 5 or so years later.

I think one of my biggest issues with 16 is how it felt like they were just trying to make what wanted to feel like a Sony first party game. It didn’t have that typical flair I love about most Japanese games.

Square enix messed up thinking their best move was to put out all their FF games on one platform. There’s are sooo many people that love FF and square enix games in general.

Yes then that means kingdom hearts 4 might come on the switch 2. And I will be happy if Kingdom hearts 3 makes a comeback for the switch 2 and steam PC version same for the final remake 1 and 2 rebirth with mods on PC steam all of them with the mods back action. And so is genshin impact or hokai star rail on Nintendo switch 2. Phantasy star games on switch 2.
More Square Enix titles are a huge get for the Switch 2. Looking forward to seeing what they're cooking
I really doubt ff16 and 7 rebirth will be on switch 2, just because if they’d be on ps4 probably If it was possible. Most likely it’s games upcoming

I think if squenix becomes a nintendo first party sony might drop off from console production just as fast as it looks like Microsoft is going to(cuz let's be serious if xbox has a next gen console in a couple maybe 5 years it most likely gonna be a windows pc)
What makes you believe Nintendo wants to buy Square Enix? There is no hint in that.
I really wish Nintendo would have released the Switch 2 in late 2023 or early 2024. The chip seems to have been ready from Nvidia long before that.
