Indeed. This spot he checked out doesn't seem like it's even deep enough to swim in or at least the other end he checked out before showing the stream that feeds it. I don't know. Maybe in the summer the rain fills it up more or something, but it definitely didn't seem deep enough for diving in.
The rock formation there is called the Wissahickon Schist, a metamorphic rock formation that was originally mud deposited about 500 million years ago. There is also Gneiss as well. We visited this park in my field geology class.
Should of went in the summer there would be 50 people and little Puerto Rico having a bbq and party. Or me drunk doing stupid shit lol. Devils pool is major party place. People jumping from all angels even the bridge.
Mike Spikedog I went so swim last year of the summer of 2017 and it doesn’t look deep, but it is deep, deep enough so you when you jump from the rocks you don’t hurt yourself but now I had never jump from the bridge so I can’t tell you about that
Quick question. Can you hike here directly from the Green Valley Inn ? We went last weekend and not a single hiker had any idea what we were talking about and one said we had to drive there?
I dig the walk about. You could use more content about the science of the area you hike through, ie. botany/geology/forestry etc. I'm led to understand that the Wissahickon Formation which you were hiking is a product of the Taconic Orogeny, (mountain building) which took place appx 450 million years ago.
All great videos!!!
Thanks for all your PA wandering dude ! Always entertaining

The finger span bridge is a sculpture of a finger that you can walk through. It might be hard to tell it's a finger from the inside
What an amazing place .
Hi sweet page ☺ Keep it up!
That bridge is awesome. How did it get the name of Devil's Pool?
" Jumping Off That Bridge, Into That Water. CRAZY.!!! "
Keith Johnson they have big walls built of metal and barbed wire each side, because people did that😂😉
