You are the best retired hair stylist of 67 years award-winning stylist I have been cutting hair your way all of my career it's like it came natural I understand every word you say and thank God for you so hairdressers can get it you are exactly right I miss working I loved working God bless you enjoy your life
i just love it, so classic. your hands are magic. when i do it on my clients is not looking that clean and i think i need lots of experience to be able to do such an amazing cut.
It's great to have a new perspective on such a basic cut.And now I absolutely must have one of those Ergo brushes. And as always thank you Matt.I love the length of the video.I think it is important because you explain the hows and why's.
I love Matt beck videos. So informative and detailed. I wish each video started showing off the final product. Helps me visualize as he is cutting and talking
Can you please do a slow motion of how your scissors move back and forth through the cut. ? I feel like it would be really satisfying and useful lol By back and forth I mean when you stop to comb the hair the way you flip the scissors away and back in position
I don't know if this helps but u can slow down or speed up the video on UA-cam. Go to the right of the video where there is 3,dots and click on it. There's a spot for speed and u can choose. Also for video quality.
Love your videos but have some confusion if u can please help me Question1: when do we just cut straight across without sectioning Question2: is this taking diagonal parts and cutting horizontal same as taking straight horizontal parts sections as I have seen some videos in which they do that so just want to make sure if this cut is same as that...thanks
This is very basic but could you make a video about blow drys and timing? I am an apprentice in a salon and they all talk about how you have to be so fast at blow drying, which I do understand BUT you can’t always keep the speed when someone has a lot of hair. Could you offer advice? Love your videos they teach me so much!
Sarah Jones Stylist here! Regardless of hair density, make use of products! They are there to help you, to work with you and to up the quality of your blowouts. It's a canvas, you need to prep it and use the right selection of products to give you a proper finish and aid in speed. A blowdry spray will help the hair dry faster, mousses for volume, serums and glosses for smoothing and shine, etc. I always like to flash dry out a lot of the moisture first before I get in there with a brush to flat wrap the roots. Dry your roots first, then you can go in the dry the mids to ends
Jessica Angela thank you! Timing wise, how long would it take you to blow dry from start to finish? They all want us to finish the blow dry in under 10 minutes, but when I see them blow dry it takes them almost 20 minutes... I just don’t know what a realistic time goal would be. I feel like they are expecting unrealistic timing when they can’t finish a blow dry in 10 minutes either! Thank you again!
I'm a stylist also. I have the original Dyson, been using for almost 2 yrs. I still cannot complete a really smooth blow dry in 10 mins. It takes a good 20 mins. to do it right. I work for myself so I answer only to my clients. Good products help, as well as blotting out as much water as possible before you apply them.
Sarah Jones I’m an apprentice in a salon too I find blasting the hair dry 70% first really saves on time. I’m also almost finished and I’m awful with timings I hate rushing and doing a crap job. Also do you have to do an ‘end test’ once you’ve passed all your assessments and I’m really worried I’m going to fail it for timing!
Love these videos! Thank you for sharing. I just dropped out of one beauty school because four weeks in all we had done was blow drying... It was a mess. I'm learning so much here! Thank you! (Yes I'm finding a new school!)
Matt I love watching your videos, as a fairly new stylist they help me work out some of the issues I'm faced with at the salon. Could you possibly do a wrap dry on an actual person sometime? Please and thank you!!!
You are the amazing you ha e a special teqnique to describe your haircut thank you for the videos it's a lot helping me during to the work with my client thank you so much
This was absolutely amazing for people who don’t put their skills into practice 🥰😍😍😍😍thank you so much this was lovely!!!! I don’t comment often but this was just so on point about to attempt to replicate on my friend thanks !!!!
PS only I had to use to blow dryers at a time in one hand so I could work faster LOL the only two things that I couldn't do in hair is French braids and how can I cut a flip I can't figure it out mathematically I don't understand my thinking please teach how to cut a flip much appreciate love your videos never comment cuz I have too much to say
